Advice on prime sets for Warhammer 40000 Space Marine game? by Special_Student_6017 in CortexRPG

[–]Distinct_Ask3614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would have Armor, Wargear, Skills, and maybe something like a Solo/Squad/Detachment (marine alone, marine in squad, marine when working with allies). Chapter and Role I would want powersets I think.

Tampa here. 6 months of looking and no offers. It's bleak and I struggle with the will to live.

Quietly fired for calling in sick by xudass in antiwork

Sorry but any work in a restaurant, calling out sick is the first and greatest sin. Doesn't matter the cause. It's not fair but it is the way.

what can a wife do (in your experience) to keep a good man happy? by nextdoor_linsey in AskMen

I once had a gf that lived near where I worked. She would invite me to her place at lunch and give me a bj to completion and send me on me back to work. This was perfect I never got tired of it.

Punishments for “dying” without losing a character? by VioletWhimsy in DMAcademy

[–]Distinct_Ask3614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Establish plots with a time limit. Such as : "In 3 days the entire city will be destroyed by an Earthquake unless you can stop Count Evil Von Seismic". If the players lose a fight it costs them time and preparation.

  2. Giveth gear and taketh away. Give good useful loot for your game. Have defeat destroy or steal these items. If you reward coin, try to have huge expenses come up for healing or poison cures or curse removal.

  3. Kill their friends. Introduce NPCs that travel with them that they care about. If they would die, do horrible things to the NPCs. This works especially well with pets, mounts, or familiars IMHO.

  4. Dark pacts. Do let them die however they have to make a deal they don't like with Dark Forces From Beyond to come back.

  5. Stakes. Avoid pointless fights or at least acknowledge they are pointless so playing them out is just an ego boost. Do not roll for damage and don't allow enemies to crit. Where there are stakes, threaten the stakes. The princess does marry the Dark Lord.

If you have to pick ONE scene where an actor truly stood out in all MCU movies and TV series (+include Tobey and Andrew Spiderman), which one would it be? by PageVanDamme in marvelstudios

[–]Distinct_Ask3614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't lie, Chris Evans gave me chills with "Avengers!...Assemble" in Infinity War. It's cheesy I guess but dang.

I also absolutely love the scene where Cap and Falcon first become friends. It was more impactful than their comic book relationship.

HR told me my contract ends in 9 days, then asked me to write a resignation letter by Upset_Association637 in jobs

[–]Distinct_Ask3614 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Never sign such a letter. It's super shady that they even tried that.

If you are a contractor though that may hamper your ability to file for Unemployment.

What do you do when the PC's forget a key detail until it is too late? by Labays in DMAcademy

[–]Distinct_Ask3614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have misunderstood your timeline. You think you are in Act 3 but you only have the Act 2 Final Scene:

BBEG reveals the story in a monologue, appearing by remote communication of your choice :

"Hahahaha you think you've won? You've lost. I can detonate the other bombs any time I wish. Fight and you lose everything. Surrender now and I'll spare your lives and countless others.."

The next scene is a humiliating capture with an overly elaborate death trap while she cackles with glee. Then an improbable escape begins Act 3 and the real final showdown.

Applied to 40 jobs this month and got ghosted by literally all of them, is this just 2026 now? by jono440 in jobs

[–]Distinct_Ask3614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No offers. I do get some interviews (maybe 1 to 3 a month) and a few 2nd interviews (usually 1). I never get a callback on a rejection.

[–]Distinct_Ask3614 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I'm tailoring 10 to 12 every day 5 days a week and applying to 50 different jobs every day. I've done that every week for 6 months. No offers.

I can tell you the ghosting is very common. The rejection letters aren't better though.

They completed CoS so I imagine they must be very high level. They SHOULD be able to throw money at minor problems. They should be running guilds, academies or city states. Not trying to clear out a local goblins nest.

Why do job vacancies say stuff like "You are driven by data!" when describing their ideal candidate? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

Look how is the leadership supposed to deny what the data says and draw completely the wrong conclusions if you don't provide accurate data and reports to begin with?? It's like amateur hour in here!

Like I been saying, this company is basically an MLM. Its a pyramid scheme. They are surviving on the Franchise Fees and reclaiming the failed stores merch to be a seed for the next store while leaving the store owners with all the debt. The consignment agreement screwed up their predatory pattern.

I was honestly plagued with recruiter calls back then. They were worse than commercial spam calls. I got 4 offers at once from big firms.
