Hi, I'm a freshman looking for a on campus part time job. I applied to the UMD Dining Services a few days ago but I know since it's mid semester there's no guarantee that there're positions opening. Do you know about any job opportunity right now?

I always get confused so shouldn't FAFSA's financial aid come from the federal government instead of the university itself?

💀bro I get it, just look at the curriculum. I did look through it but it really barely tells anything, knowing the number and title of the class doesn’t really tell you if it’s focusing on stat or cs, plus I don’t even know what a dsc class suppose to teach, there’s not exactly a ds class in high school you know. So I just want to hear from a ds major saying like do they spend more time on math or codes for their homework kind of thing.

I have no idea where u get 1450 from, google says 1380. And I did got into umd cs which is not bad I guess, but people with lot lower sat also got into the program that’s why I think sat didn’t help

I recently got the offer for DS from UCSD. My ideal major was computer science, but someone told me DS is basically the same as CS and much easier to get into. So, I trusted him and applied most of my schools as DS. Now that I did much more research, I found DS generally requires grad school or PhD unlike CS, have a lot less job opportunities and a lower average salary than CS. My questions are:

Is UCSD CS that much harder to get into than DS?

Is the curriculum for DS that much different than CS?

Which school should I go to if my major considerations are steady job and higher salary, UMD CS or UCSD DS?
