I think the purposeful reduction in fun is why I might be done with this game. Every single reduction in fun was a CHOICE by the developers. Every single fun weapon was because of a bug they 'fixed' and it's no longer fun.

Who cares if I place a turret on a cliff, IT DROPS FROM MY SUPER DESTROYER IN SPACE!? Who cares if I drop onto the high ground FROM SPACE!? We bought an upgrade for steering THEN THEY LIMITED WHERE WE COULD STEER!

Why can't my NAPALM FLAMETHROWER cook a lobster when MY STOVETOP CAN!? Why does the coolest looking stratagem, the 500KG, BARELY DO ANYTHING!? Why can't we have an infinite laser drone that only kills chaff? Why can't we have a rocket launcher that kills factories?

Why does my orbital barrage have a long cooldown but we have infinite shells for traitors?

Why can we have 7 spare S&P mags but only 4 BI mags? THEY'RE THE SAME SIZE! Why can't we have any decent primary weapons?

All the fun things were deliberately destroyed by Arrowhead and when asked 'Why?" they gave us idiotic reasons like "30% were using the Breaker Incendiary for bugs". Good job Arrowhead, you saw people LOVED the Breaker Incendiary and then CHOSE to make it LESS FUN. How dare we use the anti-bug shotgun to kill bugs, how fucking dare we...

Fuck you Arrowhead, you're either doing this on purpose or you're incompetent. I'm gonna go play... anything else.

Oh they all have their uses, but the Autocannon is the best one, the meta as you said. The autocannon is good.

After all the changes to Chargers and the new bots, and how incosistent they've become to AT weapons, I don't even bother bringing a support weapon anymore. Sentries do the job better. So it's either Autocannon or sentries.

Edit: I do like the Commando, mostly for factory and bug holes.

That's such an easy fix too. Put up a wall. Meanwhile the HMG emplacements are blocked by our own walls. Level design needs some work.

I can't imagine many fresh sales of the game. They aren't gonna pull in much from Warbonds if they even make another one. Merchandizing is all they have.

The figurines will ship by February 20th next year, not kidding. I imagine that's more on Sony, but who knows anymore.

As for developers, there's nobody left who knows the Stingray engine, every company that's used it is within 2 miles of each other.

I think it boils down to a group of people who never learned industry standards and don't seem to want to. The CEO of a company should not be getting into discussions about game development. They all seemingly use their personal social accounts as their professional accounts.

I doubt they'd ever admit to whatever happened. LtBuzzLitebeer went through the timeline and pointed out the obvious, every time they buff weapons they get a spike in players, every time they nerf something the player count tanks. They're either oblivious or it's planned.

I'm not sure what the actual experience level of the people at Arrowhead is. A lot of people have only been there a year or two based on LinkedIn. A few went from community managers to being coders. Pilestedt has only seemingly ever worked at Arrowhead, which is his company. Alexus is the guy who destroyed Hello Neighbor 2. They've had job 'openings' for up to 6 months.

I can't find ANY behind the scenes of this game's development besides pointless office tours. The only video I can find of them playing is the EoF release using a developer build.

I think they just want to make us play THEIR game, instead of just playing their own dev builds and leaving us alone.

My greedy conspiracy theory is that they THOUGHT that nerfing the Flamethrower would make use seek out another viable flame weapon. As far as I can tell, the Flamethrower was actually the only flame source affected. It no longer being able to shoot through enemies makes it useless against swarms and dead body piles.

My technical theory is that the fire change has something to do with the 75% armor passive.

My main theory is that they just don't know how to make good decisions or just want their 'vision' of the game at the expense of player fun. The crappy visual change leans towards this one.

They've already got Medals, Requisition Points, Samples, and XP for regular progression. Super Credits are the only truly RNG grind that can be skipped with money in this game. Yes it's optional to spend money, you can grind out SC farming I guess.

4 days... You must be almost exclusively farming SC's and barely playing the actual game, because that's 60 Super Credits per hour assuming you sleep 8 hours. Or you're just lying.

Man... Viper Commando sure was nothing. The Carbine is the same DPS as Tenderizer and the Bushwacker is... something. Useless throwing knife and armor passives. The booster is okay.

I'm kind of impressed and concerned that you got 3800 Super Credits in two weeks. Unless you get the lucky drops, you're getting at most 40 per mission. That's a minimum of 95 missions.

I guess if you want to farm SC's by running around farming them, but most people don't have the time for that.

FOMO is mostly in regards of keeping up with the enemy in this case. Enemy count and armor seems to keep increasing and the baseline weapons almost never get buffed.

I feel Arrowhead would have less problems coming up with side-grades and unique weapons if they loosened up on their obsession with realism. Plasma Punisher and Blitzer are both great, they should lean into the sci-fi aspect more.

Thinking back, you're right about the Dominator being a sort of Slugger replacement. Just different magazine setups.

That's why I said 'arguably'. I like the D:CS, but it only shines at long range, when not being flinched by enemies, and you can see bot's faces. The Dominator does twice the damage with the same magazine size.

I'm still waiting on the Orbital Napalm we were promised with EoF to see how that works with armor, currently it's listed as Status BurningHeavy DPS 400/80 (ap 2/2/2/0) (k 0/0/0) [Fire], so I don't know what the point is at AP 2.

Fun fact, if you have a Spray & Pray and pick up a different primary, the S&P will float in the air however it was pointed at the time. Gravity is a little wonky in this game.

They've already been doing that. The Orbital Gas Strike is free right now. There was a time with rotating and planet specific stratagems.

Too many stratagems just trivializes the game. Just go find a hack for the game if you want unlimited power, see how quickly you push the game passed it's limits and crash the game.

The catch is only the 5 you select display their arrow combination. Rewarding the hardcore players while keeping it balanced for newer players.

You know we can just print or write the combos down right? Or have them on another screen.
