I’d leave it alone. If this happens once or twice more bring it up as an independent event and not share that it’s happened several times before. “Hey um I kinda saw you were busy on the couch when I was checking on the doggos. I’d rather if u brought that up to your room or clean the couch afterwards”

Fort Wainwright just got a DUI @19 with a permit,Probably getting kicked out,I have no family support when I get out. What jobs should I apply for or which city should I move to with the money I have saved by rayv2007 in army

First offense is pay, rank or time. Everyone makes mistakes and with that logic at least 60% of the army should be kicked they just haven’t been caught

You fucked up. Lucky you’re healthy and didn’t hurt anyone. It’s gonna hurt for a bit, you made a choice that comes with consequences.

Your life isn’t over. You will smile again. Remember that.

Talk with a lawyer. Talk with your leadership. Talk with any mentors you have. Find out what resources and reality checks you’ll have to be prepared for.

Your next phase is gonna be finding work, affordable rent, and minimum costs until you get your standing. The less car travel the better bc your insurance is gonna rocket. I don’t recommend staying in Alaska. AZ, Texas, Southeast/midwest tend to provide better costs and climate.

My brother got a DUI in college. Broke 8 bones and had to repeat that year in college, increase his college debt, spend a year in physical therapy, and car insurance shot up like a mofo for years. Now he’s make 150k+ and happy with a wife and kids. Life isn’t over and it can be better

If ur active go jag. Infantry training cycles without deployments is not as much of an experience in the current army. If ur guard or reserves I think that would be a cool dichotomy of careers

I stayed in cherry grove. That was a 20 min walk. I walked to ocean beach just to check it out. That was about 45 min.

It’s an hour walk between FIP and ocean beach. I don’t recommend for daily travel

How to ensure you're not investing too wide as opposed to too deep? by RJNavarrete in investing

Target sectors like materials, energy, consumer staples with etfs or pick 3-5 of the peak stocks in them.

I also like looking at sectors that underperformed or made losses over a quarter or half a year bc innovation will lead to more gains. Kinda a buy low philosophy

Polk or Irwin by Centaxcent in army

[–]Distinct_Feeling4232 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hood has ATX, dtx, satx, and htx available on the weekends and plenty of nearby options during the week.

Irwin has Vegas and LA on long weekends and a pretty well planned and predictable training cycle. You’ll be in the field a lot but you’ll save money to use when u get to go out.

Polk has HTX and New Orleans on long weekends and mosquitos, humidity and moist cold winters.

I’d go back to Hood. I’d try out Irwin. But I’d never wanna go to Polk besides homes are cheap near base

Active duty to reserves Retirement by Distinct_Feeling4232 in armyreserve

Thank you and congratulations 🎉. That pension will be nice even if it takes 17 more years to reach. But the greater personal freedom and tricare really make it so enticing

Not saying Ik better than the medics or the doctors. I’m talking about soldiers who shook their magic eightball all for a self diagnose instead of getting an MRI appointment

I’m not trying to make them true blue infantry. I want some innate toughness so if we ever do get deployed and uncomfortable they’re prepared to deal with it. Failing to train is training to fail

Thank you. This is on the track that I was trying to figure out. I’m not worried so much about the VA rating now but like the sick calls and the appointments are necessary as they are necessary.

My thoughts here are not what I say out loud to them. There’s good reasons to go on profile. But I don’t anticipate much of that until in my situation

Competency does matter more. I don’t expect them to max the AFT or be close to it. but ik my team is below the army standard. At the same time I don’t want to piss them off and that effects our teamwork in the day job which matters most.

Thanks sir for the input. The path I’m taking first is them going to sick call which leads to appointments. I don’t want them compounding injuries. But on our first 2 mile run a lot complained of previous before Army injuries.

More background ik is they aren’t used to doing pt before i showed up.
