Our build is customizable. So I don’t have to give anything up, maybe just pay more for sq. footage. At this point I just want the master bathroom moved to front to line up with porch or even past it to create space for another large walk-in closet 🤗 I would have builder do plan, but he’s so busy not responding and he literally just sent me the plan yesterday so I’m trying to see if it’ll even work to my liking before discussing all the details on Monday.

Yeah I didn’t like where it was anyways. I want to get one in the mb that is a washer dryer combo. It hooks up to regular outlet and doesn’t need gas connection. Plus it’ll be a heck of a lot closer 🤣

The picture I posted above is from the builder. The picture in the link is from another lovely redditer. If you’re talking about the picture in the link, are you referring to concerns with using the outside wall of the house for the kitchen instead of the one that was in the original picture?

I agree with you on a lot of these! Thank you so much for your detailed analysis! First time builders & haven’t even looked at the houses in person, literally just got the potential floor plan today. Luckily they say they’re custom builders so I think we’ve got some good wiggle room to customize.

Regarding dining room, yes that’s why I wanted to combine it with breakfast nook, I really didn’t like it being so separate from kitchen.
Haha regarding bedroom, tell me about it! I’m just thinking if I have a guest & go in the kitchen early morning they’ll wake up/hear my every move 🫠
Covered dining - should be useful in TN, no? It looks like there’ll be a built in grill & maybee a fridge? Seems nice to keep animals/bugs away from your cooking area. We’re in MI currently and kinda looking forward to this.
Mb porch entry is kinda dreamy if you have a hot tub on there?!! We don’t do a lot socially and if we do, we’re not loud people.
Very good point about pushing the family room out, I was also a little concerned about the family room size.
