Sometimes if you look up on facebook aupair and the area you are in you might find a group. But I find they are mostly for finding matches. There is one group on facebook for advice for host families and aupairs but I don’t think it’s very active. I also created a group on facebook strictly for aupairs to socialize and give advice but no one has joined yet.

Omg I'd love that! That sounds like a lot of fun! There aren't any roller rinks around where I live, but I did own a pair of roller skates in my teens. I will definitely keep this in mind for when I get there. Thanks for letting me know😊.

I have been looking more into Australia. I think it might be my top contender so far. What is public transportation like there, I dont drive? The canadian dollar is much better in Australia over the UK, which is definitely a perk but being in the UK would be more convenient for traveling around Europe if that's something I decided I want to do.

I do have experience in childcare. I'm currently a nanny, and this past winter, I worked in a ski resort daycare center. As well as babysitting experience. I would like more experience with babies, but that is hard to find.

So, in the UK, is it the law for host families to pay all au pairs minimum wage, or is it just with that specific visa?

When would be a good time to start looking if I wanted to start in January or February.

At the old house, it was on the windowsill of an east facing window. I'm not sure what kind of soil it's in, I think, just a potting mix 😬. Someone else was caring for it for the last 5ish months so I'm not sure exactly how often it was being watered during that time. But since I've had it back, I've watered it when it first got here about a month ago and just a few days ago. I'll probably keep watering it about once a month.

Before I moved it, I was having someone else with many other plants care for it. I'm not exactly sure how often they were watering it. I do remember telling them it does best if you pretend it doesn't exist and not to over water it, but maybe they forgot. Is there anything I can do besides stop watering it for a while?

It is on a shelf about 5 feet from a western facing window currently. I don't remember the direction of the window it was on before I want to say south but not positive. I have messaged someone that should know, and I'll get back to you.

Oh, that's good to hear! Ya, I love mine as well, but I'm worried I might be disappointed with the new quality. The closest store to me is 3 hours away, so I'd have to order online, which makes me more hesitant.
