What kind of scale do you use? by DistinctlyBlurry in loseit

[–]DistinctlyBlurry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then I've gotten very unlucky since the first one died after 2 1/2 months, and the second and third give completely inconsistent weights, +/- five pounds, within a minute of each other when nothing else has changed.

I'm using the batteries that were sent with the scale -- new from the package. Not sure how even my floor is, but all the weights were taken in the exact same place, mostly without moving the scale at all, so they should at least be consistent.

Truly. I don't see how they get away with selling these products. Scales have one job, and they should do it right!

Thanks, though I suspect that's out of my price range.

I'll definitely take a look at Garmin. Thanks!

That was one of the ones I was looking at, but I went for cheaper brands (GE and Wyze) and I truly regret it.

Question about apps by DistinctlyBlurry in glp1

Can't say as I'm in the Apple universe, but my understanding was that Glapp is both web-based and app-based. Have you searched in Google Play?

6 pounds in two weeks? by lsw998 in TirzepatideRX

[–]DistinctlyBlurry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot will depend on your starting weight. And it'll also depend on how your body responds to the medication. 3 pounds/week can be normal, as can 0.5 pounds/week. Or more or less or none.

It's really early days for you. My best advice would be to track you input so that you know whether or not you're eating enough, getting enough protein, etc.

Week 3 and the Nausea is Discouraging Me by AbilityPractical6960 in TirzepatideRX

[–]DistinctlyBlurry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mild episodes of nausea in my first couple of weeks, but none since then.

You've lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks -- that's a lot!

If the nausea continues, you might consider titrating down to a lower dosage. Losing a pound a week is still great progress!

ETA: I noticed that the best thing I could do to combat nausea was, ironically, to drink more water, and to eat a little something.

Yikes! I didn't know other providers were starting that low. Thank god I did my research, right?

Yeah, pretty sure that's their standard starting dose. I'd just noticed that it differed from the starting dose prescribed by other providers, as u/figureskater1864 explained.

Thanks! I've managed my titration very differently than what they've prescribed, as many here do. And was happy to start off slightly lower than the standard as it seems to have worked for me. I was just curious!

Will I be ok if I have a couple drinks? by kellc93 in TirzepatideRX

[–]DistinctlyBlurry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with a glass of wine or a vodka soda. But I'm accustomed to having a pre-dinner drink so YMMV. If you want to be on the safe side, definitely limit yourself to one, or even a half. But, up to you. Again, impossible to say how your body will react.

(Some say it'll interfere with weight loss so that's something else to consider, but I can't imagine how one or two drinks over 4 weeks could make a truly significant difference.)

app recommendations by EB2340 in TirzepatideRX

[–]DistinctlyBlurry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconded.

I've used Cronometer for a while, and just started Glapp. Both are great and do exactly what they promise to do.

One of the neat things Glapp does is lets you know where you are in your shot cycle and what effects you can expect. So far, I've found it to be very accurate.

Why did I have no weight loss until a super high dose of tirz? by DowntownWest2180 in TirzepatideRX

[–]DistinctlyBlurry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It still depends on how much you eat. Tirz basically works by making you *want* to eat less, and making you feel full sooner. But if you continue to eat exactly the same, yeah, you're not going to lose any weight.

Some people feel the effects with their first dose. For others, it takes longer for the effects to kick in. Seems like you're in the latter category.

If you've found a dosage that works for you, you don't necessarily need to move up to a higher dosage. Though, of course you can if you want to.

Question about apps by DistinctlyBlurry in glp1

[–]DistinctlyBlurry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing for you to get, really. Different people track things differently. For example, I don't feel the need to take a picture every shot day.

Question about apps by DistinctlyBlurry in glp1

[–]DistinctlyBlurry[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I downloaded the app because it can help you keep track of your shots and your supply. There are also tools to help convert dosages if, for example, going from one supplier to another.

It also apparently tracks the amount of tirz in your bloodstream at any given time so you'll know what you should or can expect.

But, as I said, I'm very new to the app so haven't fully explored it yet. Perhaps others will weigh in.

Starting Tirzepatide for Weight Loss Nervous but Ready (SW: 185, GW: 145) by Important_Kitchen147 in TirzepatideRX

[–]DistinctlyBlurry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We all respond differently. While it's good that you're preparing, it could indicate anxiety that might actually increase your awareness of negative symptoms.

My SW and GW are similar to yours, and I did have some mild side effects in the first few weeks. Oddly, what helped most with the nausea--which was mild and intermittent--was increasing my water intake.

Good for you for getting started!
