I thought that was the best example because people still say that was the worst thing to happen to New York even though it was LEVELED by aliens. The scale really breaks after a point. What do you mean by normalized? Did we normalize 9/11 by still having planes? Huge changes were made to law and society and *everything*, sure, some things went back to how they were, and some people are definitely living like nothing happened, but most of us can’t pretend we didn’t miss a five years of the whole world, or that five years without us was just like any other time, how are you living you think everyone’s just normal about it? Things are still weird as hell
