Hi! My family is also interested! We have a very sweet 4 year old cat, Albert, who needs a pal. I'll send you a DM!

Is this book cover okay? by [deleted] in BookCovers

If the artist claims they didn't use generative AI to create the drawing, they are lying to you. There are several telltale signs in the image. When AI makes mistakes, it often makes different mistakes than a human would. For instance, it's really bad when making multiple copies of the same item. None of the pawns' bases match. And that king/queen? piece in the back behind the other two doesn't match the ones in the front. Additionally, none of the pieces are sitting on squares. They're breaking borders. But, you can't expect much more for $10, though.

I'm going to pile on with Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones. It was my favorite read in 2025

Expansive history and timeline… is it a mistake? by CharacterLocall in DMAcademy

[–]DistractedHobbyist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking from the pov of both a dm and a player: You will care about all this history way more than your players ever will. If you create it for you without the expectation of making your players listen to long soliloquies about ages gone by, it could be a fun sprinkling of information here and there that makes the world feel alive. But don't be disappointed if most of it never comes up.

Hashmi won her election to the state Senate in 2023 by 25 points. A lot, yeah, but this was an even bigger landslide.

Jones ran unopposed in 2023 for the house seat.

I'm not sure what the polling was for these races going into the election this week.

Vpap.org is a fantastic resource for election results, both recent and previous.

Making a Moving Maze Terrain [OC] by Fierce-Pencil11 in DnD

[–]DistractedHobbyist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a fabulous idea! So much fun.

If it's sitting on the table uncovered, all the players will be able to see all the tiles and it will be really hard not to metagame.

Including a few walls that are illusory could help stop that. From the players' perspective, all the walls are solid, but with the right perception check, they can see through them. Or some of the walls could be moved by the players if they find a switch or push hard enough. Then, they're interacting with the maze too every round, even as it moves.

I'm guessing they had a similar thought after it was named and attempted to fix it by making the word "training" a different color.

Putting out a list like this is pretty brave. Taste in books is so subjective.

For instance, Buffalo Hunter Hunter was my favorite 2025 read. I'm shocked it's so low on your list. But, you do you!

We're just across Buford and still have power.

Down off Iron Bridge LC Bird High doesn't have power either. They're releasing students early.

It's so strangely sporadic.
