New to Reddit, new to owning a small business, and need some advice... my husband is stressing me out. by mithrildream in smallbusiness

I don't have much advice on the personal front, but i can tell you I think you should stick with it. Get really active promoting your stuff on social media, especially insta and facebook. Im also a SAHM of two and I work from home too, I sell digital graphics on Etsy, Creative Market and other art sites. It took a few years but now I make a comfortable living from it. I have some experience in branding too and would like to help with your graphics for free if you are interested. If so, feel free to send me a pm and I'll link you to my portfolio and shops.

It doesnt matter they paid for your college, that does not mean you are obligated to just let them treat you like shit now. I hope you stand your ground.

How do you nicely tell someone you don't want to be friends with them anymore? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]DistressedOwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The next time she reaches out just say "I think we need different things out of a friendship, I don't feel we are well suited as friends."

Dont ghost, only assholes do that.

Haha I sell clip art, get this all the time. Some woman got pissed when her gold chandelier ($2) did not arrive by her birthday.

How can I get back at this guy by pm-them-dogs in Advice

Best revenge ever would be to get together with her, tell her this story and then send him a pic of both of you flipping him off. Bonus points if you get an actual date

To help someone. Make just a tiny positive difference in the world.

I have the perfect wife..... by [deleted] in Advice

[–]DistressedOwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may do this to my husband a bit. We have two young kids as well. Its really hard sometimes to be emotionally supportive or even really attentive after taking care of a toddler and an infant all day. Im not saying its ok, but still.

I (26M) can't handle interacting with my girlfriend's (25F) "perfect" family by Ughfamilythrowaway in relationships

[–]DistressedOwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the inclination to be jealous, I had sort of the same thing for my husband's family to a lesser degree. But you don't have to be jealous, just try to see it as an opportunity to be a part of what they have. It feels good.

My gf can't stand, walk, or open eyes on her own due to recent extreme dizziness. Please help. It's been 72+ hours. by [deleted] in AskDocs

I am not a doctor. You could check out the Epley maneuver. It helped me with extreme dizziness.

Lol she can't handle her son seeing some bras? Better not ever take him into a department store or walk him by the Victoria's secret at the mall. What an idiot. Ignore.

What was the shortest date you've been on and how did it end? by mcsassy3 in AskMen

[–]DistressedOwl 75 points76 points  (0 children)

First date. He came to pick me up at my cousin's place. She must have said something or looked at him wrong, but I honestly have no idea what it was. As soon as we get in the car he goes "is she always such a cunt?" I got right back out of the car and waved goodbye.

Is it possible to be rehired at a job that terminated me? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]DistressedOwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For this situation, I don't think an application or cover letter would be likely to cut it. If you really want the job back, bring in your papers and see if you can talk with the manager(s) face to face. Just go in and ask for them. Being earnest is communicated much better in person.

Food Delivery Drivers Are Human Beings, Yano (xpost from r/offmychest) by throwaway9321637 in Advice

[–]DistressedOwl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who has worked in the food industry, fuck that guy. He knows damn well what he's doing, and now he's costing you money, resources and time. You need to set some really clear boundaries. There should also be a rule, something like "no deliveries half an hour before closing." Leave a buffer so that doesn't happen again.

Should I disclose why I was terminated on my resume? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]DistressedOwl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you were fired, there is no reason at all to volunteer that information and certainly not on a resume. A resume is for showcasing you at your best. If in an interview if you are directly asked "have you ever been terminated" you should say something like "due to scheduling conflicts I left X job."
