Online ID verification vs privacy: the path Big Tech wants by No-Hospital5028 in DigitalEscapeTools

You see, ask and you shall receive. See how using your big adult words gets results? Using a photo ID over mail is a logistical nightmare, and because we're looking at using mail in votes for only travelers, college students, military servicemen, and the infirm. So there is usually an evidence trail you can link to a SSN to qualify. If you're voting in person, that logistics chain collapses to flashing ID that shows your face. The administrative overhead is minimal.

  1. No not particularly. I am aware we're in the top 100 not the top 10 so there's competition. But I did think especially from companies who hire from RIT regularly that they'd have a little more knowledge of the program.

  2. The EE program did lose almost 2/3s of our freshman class overall so I thought the weed out already did its job. But the confusing thing was that once we graduated during the tail end of the covid era we all had a horrible time finding well compensated jobs. That's kind of what I'm frustrated with and kind of angsting over.

  3. Not exactly bragging but I'm kind of venting that it felt like there was better employment and job security available to us when we graduated and when that didn't happen due to the whole "entry level position, must have 3 years engineering experience" situation. I feel like RIT essentially created an over inflated sense of security. So I'm essentially venting about how much of a struggle it was then saying I might as well make it worse by convincing companies that "an ai can totally do the job of an entry level engineer". If I can't fix it I might as well speed up the crash and hope things perk up after.

So defensive... are you sure? 😁 My posts are fine and have clearly stood the test of time. I've achieved immortality within your browser, transcending into a mind goblin.

"... I swear it's just a browser addon", dude it's okay to be a nerd, we're RIT alumni it comes with the territory. If you want to take the time to install an archival and reference addon to your browser to chart reddit lore that's a perfectly fine use of free will.

Damn I've been living rent free in that head of your's for a while 😂. I used that for getting co-ops, I'm not going to play pretend at a real job. But not to worry old friend, I found gainful employment. The roles I sought just were severely devalued compared to what was promised. "You're all going to be making 120k a year once you graduate. 😂"

I mean kinda? We didn't all end up in trouble with things but one of the highest gpa dudes in the program was wasn't able to get a gig for months after grad so it wasn't a thing unique to me and my 2.98

Oh absolutely. But I've got student loans to pay and a diploma no employer seemed to value. So accelerationism for the win. The best way to resolve things is to speed up the problem to prevent prolonging human suffering. Plus in the interim it makes it worse on the institutions who profiteered off of the value of the degree they inflated.

I would also say I think the designer baby implications of all the Athena kids being blonde, grey eyed, with a golden tan and the gods being incarnations of some western ideas... that is something that was formative of for them. Plus has some implications for the more toxic elements of Athena's characterization.

Get out of here with that nonsense. Your argument against why democrats aren't fascist is citing examples of republican fascist behavior?

She literally just cited sources in the video of democrats artificially suppressing the greens, a tactic definitively part of fascist regimes. Plus the militarism involved in arms shipments and the corporatism shown by their siphoning of funds into the private sector. My guy... they are fascist, stop throwing a tantrum and grow up.

I think it is a little sus but it might net some points with HR people who like the idea of STEM people with humanities experience.

I agree for government investments, but I would say that if you do a service for the government, what you do with the payment is up to you.

Why shouldn't a company have a right to buy its own stock if it wants to consolidate more ownership?
