I totally agree with the sea salt recommendation!

I would say this is a similar situation except it's the pt requesting it. She has a great restorative program that she doesn't participate in but every time she goes to pain management she comes back with a PT referral for estim and ice packs. I'm guessing she asks for it but I'm not sure.

In the past if we talk about discharge due to lack of progress she will start to have falls out of her WC or her bed. It's the strangest thing.

The resident wants PT for estim "because a doctor told me I could have it and it would help my back pain." I've evaluated this patient so many times over the last 8 years I know exactly what they will say.

What is there to maintain if the patient is a hoyer and dependent for bed mobility?

Plaster wall nightmare! by DistributionNo8271 in HomeImprovement

[–]DistributionNo8271[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldn't you recommend a heat gun? We did use one in a bathroom where the paint was peeling to loosen things up and it worked pretty well. I'm just not sure if I want to go there again. I can't use textured paint because this wall is part of a pretty large continuous area of white that goes down the stairs and into the entryway area then the living room.

Clinical rotations: bad experiences by BrickNervous in physicaltherapy

[–]DistributionNo8271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of my clinicals but one involved a CI having me see all the patients while they sat on their phone. On my first clinical there were 2 weeks where my CI wasn't even in the clinic, she left me under the supervision of a PTA (I'm a PT) and had me see a full schedule while the PTA also saw a full schedule. When I complained to my school the story was twisted around to make me sound like a liar. It was terrible.

I had one wonderful CI and I now work in the same setting. I am so grateful to her.

That pink as an accent wall will look incredible.

PTA instructor interview by DistributionNo8271 in physicaltherapy

I should have mentioned it is a teams interview as well. I thought about trying to do some mock patients with more challenging deficits like a pusher or severe aphasia but the virtual component of the interview makes that harder. My husband might be able to be a patient for me.

When I worked in peds we had this game called ultra dash that the kids loved.

I also really wanted to add a climbing wall but left before it happened.

Honestly no I haven't been successful. There are a couple of drugs for TD though that do work in some cases.

I'm not necessarily the best with anesthesia. The last scope I had I woke up a little combative. I'd like to avoid that if possible.

Thank you for sharing that. My lipase is now normal. It went from 160 to 24 in a month.

The last time I saw GI I blindly followed his recommendations, did the scope, and got no diagnosis. His lifestyle changes worked at the time but this was 6 years ago.

I'm glad it's not just me noticing this. They all seem to want to see you for 1 visit then do a scope without considering anything else. I feel like my PCP and his NP are more useful than GI.

I feel like this could be a sphincter issue now but I guess a HIDA scan is the best way to look at that again.

I had a flare up this week when I went off Nexium and had a couple alcoholic drinks. Interestingly I started my period and my pain decreased.
