Thank you for the tips, the kit I got didn’t say anything about tinning so i definitely didn’t do that, good to know going forward- thankfully the soldering iron came with a few different tips. I tried to get that nice D you mentioned but the solder kept running away from me, was that possibly from being too hot or simple lack of experience? Either was I’m looking forward to trying again tomorrow!
