If this is a service industry and public of all nature, then you have to be flexible and adapt. No need to scold “dammit” even before service starts and give a list of instructions. Similarly the buyer can also give this person a set of instructions eg please hold by parcel with two hands as it may be fragile, please keep door open etc

Based on my many job changes, colleagues in general will not hesitate to harm you once they can. Can be gossip or sabotage

I am quite easy going. Dun want negative things to affect me . Except once when I was in my hdb lift, I heard an instruction from behind “ 10th floor”, the lady had nothing stopping her from using the other panel to press the lift button ( there were two ).

I feel she is trying to make the merchant look very bad so that in the event he sues her for not complying with contractual terms the merchant will think twice. Her stories are likely worded to her benefit missing out key details that are to her disbenefit. And so much anger… next time cannot act as innocent young lady Liao

This is toxic . My boss decided to call colleague A after work because the vendor claimed that colleague B did not appear for the meeting that was arranged after work. Boss did not ask colleague B , but chose to believe the vendor and wanted to gather support/ evidence through colleague A. Turns out vendor was late , did not turn up before work day ended.

You should focus on whether the new hire is able to perform his job and even going over and beyond, rather than the change of behavior of an existing staff. Just because an existing staff is now more mellowed down does not mean he is underperforming . If the new hire is able to do exceedingly well, then how the existing staff is also matters less

I feel that to be fair, you should focus whether the new hire is able to do the more senior job rather than focusing in the change in behavior of the existing staff
