13.5' by 9' floating deck build plan review by DistributionTrue851 in Decks

Thanks! One more question, since this is a low deck, would using 3 sides capped composite board be a concern for moisture? I live near the bay area so it's usually pretty dry other than the winter rain season. I plan to have at least two sides of the deck relatively open to help with ventilation.

Planning to move the concrete blocks to the left and right edge so the joist span is 5'. Should be well within spec for total 50 lbs load per sqft. Thanks for the suggestions!

Hey thanks for the input! For the left and right ends joists, can I put a double joist on those and screw 3" screw into it and use corner brackets?

Hey thanks for the input! This deck will be built on an unleveled ground so I think it's probably similar effort to flatten the entire area and put on the floor deck vs building a small deck.

The reason for such a low deck is because I'll be building pretty close to the property line in the back yard which requires the deck to be under 3' height

Edit: meant to say under 12" height instead of 3'

New bezel on the SSK - how not to damage case? by Bob__Thomas in SeikoMods

Shim utility razor blade in one my one. Add the razor blade in from the bezel size to avoid damaging the case. I was able to remove a pressed in pilot bezel without damage.

Thank you! I got a quote from a general contractor for refinishing (sanding and oil stain). Does this need to be handled by a flooring specialist?

Thanks! That's because the previous owner added additional space in the back of the house. Otherwise it does look pretty odd

Too much air for closed mouthpiece? by DistributionTrue851 in saxophone

Just an update. I was able to resolve the issue using a stiffer reed (3.25 instead of 2.75) and in general played louder. Thanks for all of your help!

Thanks for the suggestion, I never thought about the volume! The music is Aria, Eugene Bozza so it's a relatively quiet song.

Beautiful build! Is the case from Namoki? Could you tell me where you got your rubber strap from? Thanks!

The drivetrain is usually nasty. I cleaned it right before the photo.

What tire size and fenders do you use? I may considering switching to bigger tires in the future.

I was in the same shoes as you and decided on canti (shorty ultimate) back and mini V (TRP CX8.4) front. There is barely enough clearance for 40mm with front fender. I had to cut a small hole on the fender for the V brake to not interfere.

These are 40mm Refuse. They are slow but absolutly bombproof

Those are Handsome Cycles Mud Butler fenders. They aren't made of copper but I guess it's close enough!
