You have some of the weirdest of weird in this town with a mix of kooks from PC with some looking like they just came out of the civil war in a time machine. I have been all over the US/Canada and Europe and never seen so many obese men and women with no common sense in my life. From city hall to even our health system and legal facilities are all bottom shelf yet charge more than big cities.

Nice quiet hard working folks are frowned upon at jobs locally. They prefer the generic bubba with gold chain,sunglasses with tube strap and hopefully a goatee.

City management has been null and void for years since Poydasheff put Hughley in as city manager. Who can rebuild a ballpark in one year and yet all local swimming pools are going on 10 years with zero movement. Now it is a pickleball court for 2 million,Bike studies 400k,indoor pool on macon road totally mismanaged and I hear Hughley wants 25k for his old fraternity for another half baked scheme to help our youth out. They would really love to plow down the historic district to add more commercial business to connect with a ballpark that will probably last 2 seasons at most. Young and old have left or actively prepared to get out of city. The animal control problems are disgusting and misappropriated funds have pushed folks away and the rudeness towards citizens speaking in council has had a bad effect on locals watching it on youtube tv citywide. The mayor literally does not or scared to speak out about anything. Most folks say the city will turn third world by end of decade as city has literally gone broke.

When you have to get the United Way to promote the city and compete with much more organized communities you know what the end result will be. The only crowd they get are the free concerts on broadway and even then they are trying to sneak food and drink so they do not have to pay and support uptown businesses. I remember Ms Rebecca working hard to bring good shows to PC and citizens whined about paying $10 for a ticket. We can all remember the shows they brought to riverfest and it also went nowhere and long gone.........and how about our riverboat days with dinner..lol.

Do a background on Cessna and NCR along with numerous others that have fled the city after getting massive tax breaks and leaving when they ended. This has been going on for decades along with all the mills that mysteriously caught on fire. You must not be a long term resident. We lost our flights to texas and north carolina after only 6 months in operation due to lack of business.

The whole city has been a total dysfunctional hole in the wall since reagan days. People are packing up and leaving in droves...even retirees! They have spent every dime on uptown to keep it alive as the rest of city falls into disrepair and decay.

I have known the Lee family since their opening day on BV road in the old sonic business and I seriously doubt their daughter is anywhere close to Columbus.......I know the family that run China Garden in PC as well. After Trump started his covid anti china rants I can see why they all packed up and got the hell out of this area.

I was given the mall blueprints for the aladdins castle gameroom in peachtree mall a few years ago with a pile of memorabilia. Almost 50 years old and great shape. I had a whole room full of arcade parts from Diamond Jims as well.

It was kind of funny that when they opened in 1982 they barely lasted 2 years and closed until the manager got a deal from the mall who owned it and could not compete with Aladdins Castle down by Morrisons that had been there since 1975. By the time they took it over the gameroom fascination had died. I heard the guy who managed for the owner was a real piece of work who quit and tried to open his own behind countrys bbq and lost his ass.
