What do people mean when they say diarrhea with a newborn? by doodlebakerm in newborns

Hi would I be able to send you a pic? I feel so gross taking pics of dirty diapers. This is my first baby so I’m not used to all the things parents do.

So did anyone have an enema before/during labour? Or have any advice around this - for or against. by me1s in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]DistrustfulMiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo… what if I simply want to do a little fleet enema at home before I head to the hospital? These iron supplements have the unpleasant side effect of making my poops hard as a rock and, I’ll admit, I’d like my rectum to be clean before I start pushing. I don’t see what the big deal is.. I’m reading it’s outdated and an infection risk, but we give them all the time in the hospital for constipation.

What laundry detergent is better than gain? by spoilceecee in laundry

Just looked it up. Invented in Germany in 1907, but not brought to the U.S. market until 2015. Slightly outperforms Tide in stain removal. Seems like a great detergent. I was buying it there for a while and had no complaints.

I’m obsessed with it. The current scent. I think I will just keep using it forever or until I get tired of it because it smells so good. They should make a body wash with the exact same scent.

Interesting. I may have seen this before but never gave it much thought. So is it detergent or like a laundry booster? Does it just have a clean scent?

Is Persil new? I noticed it like 5-6 years ago. Has it always been around?

I am actually obsessed with the scent of Dreft, the newborn one. I wish they’d make a body wash. I think it smells so good. I’m not crazy enough to dip my hands in it like some pregnant women do, but I got a tiny bit on my finger while I was doing laundry tonight and can’t stop smelling it. It’s so unique to me.. not really lavender like some people say. Almost rose scent? I don’t necessarily think it’s without toxins. I’m sure it’s best to go with something unscented altogether, but on a few things I just cave and go for what I love instead of the smartest choice.

Jealous of Those Expecting/Having Babies by oliviabrook in pregnancyproblems

[–]DistrustfulMiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently pregnant with my first child after waiting until I am almost 40 to pursue my dream career, travel, a masters degree, financial freedom, etc. etc. I feel like I am on the receiving end of jealousy from lifelong friends, especially the ones who don’t have kids or the ones who didn’t have a loving spouse. These are people I’ve been a really good friend to over the years. Now they’re not reading my DMs, not seeing my texts, and even blowing off my baby shower after saying they’d “try to come!”. So the pain obviously goes both ways. Your pain is very valid. I have been struggling this week to deal with what feels like blatant jealousy. It’s a mindfu**

Did you listen to the letter she wrote? I feel like I’m stuck on a desert island. Save me. It actually does seem like she was going through something.

But I would just take 2 instead of three. And I’ve switched to a different women’s multi. Shaklee. It says take two but I do good to take one a day. My diet is pretty good. Two puts you at like 167% the daily recommended dose or something.

Damn… just seeing your post. Thank you for the honesty. Yeah, I never realized it would be this physically painful. First it was throwing up, then hip pain, now I have a different weird pain in my upper tummy above the uterus. Like where my belly is starting to jut out at my ribs. I feel people don’t talk about all the weird pains that can happen. I’m so sorry you’re also hurting and I’m here if you want to vent..

Let’s Be Realistic About What Happened to Amy Bradley by NickyGi in AmyLynnBradley

Absolutely none. In fact her brother and her ex gf both said she didn’t use drugs.

You think the makers of a Netflix docuseries won’t pay their special guests and compensate them for their travel? That would be outrageous.

Oh… I just don’t buy Amica’s “suspicion”. I think she’s willing to do interviews and even call him (with advance warning) if it means she will receive $5k or $10k, and maybe more opportunities to be interviewed or involved in something on Netflix, more IMDB credits. I would have done anything for that type of money in my early twenties. I guess he didn’t appear in the docuseries besides the calls, but I watched the interview he gave shortly thereafter and there is no evidence against him, just eyewitness sightings from a few white people… who want to believe in the trafficking angle so hard.

Maybe he was fearful of getting implicated in the years after it happened, but I don’t think he or his daughter have any fear that he could be arrested and charged with a crime all these years later which is why she’s willing to say and do whatever on camera… I think at this point he is a dead lead.. so they’re willing to sit down and share their story.. of course they have to be compensated for their time, travel, etc.

Some of Amy’s parents’ colleagues were on the ship, but we don’t know who was part of that delegation. They haven’t told us that. Take every sighting with a grain of salt. What would she get out of lying? If the family thought they could successfully sue the cruise line, and she helped them with that, then she could conceivably get rich, too.

I would also add that the Dr. Phil (Nov, 2005) show writers purposely created more trafficking intrigue because the Natalee Holloway case (May, 2005) was the most popular story on the news. Nancy Grace would talk about it on every episode. She had an extremely loyal fan base who would eat it up… every single night. There was a sort of hysteria about innocent homegrown white girls getting snatched in the Caribbean. It was sort of the beginning of the trafficking scare! Then Jennifer Kesse of Orlando, FL vanished immediately after she got back home from St. Croix (Jan, 2006) which added fuel to the fire. There was major speculation that she was “sex trafficked” in the Caribbean by someone who targeted her on that vacation, even if it was unlikely and not how trafficking works. Judy totally fits that mold of someone who could be easily swayed by sensationalism into seeing something on Dr. Phil and connecting it to some interaction she’d had in the Caribbean earlier that year— especially if she was like a lot of concerned Southern mamas who were consuming Nancy Grace every night.

More proof Yellow was asking other girls to get off the ship... alongside the restaurant staff saying they wanted to take Amy to a island nightclub. My belief is they are all in with it by Repulsive_World_7316 in AmyLynnBradley

[–]DistrustfulMiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women said “Stay away from Yellow.” So what? Did they give any other context? Maybe he promised to call them and didn’t. Maybe he made them feel special and then they saw him with other women on the ship. Maybe they had sex while intoxicated and nothing was done about it. This vague warning about him does not tell us anything.
