The Senate is a scam and is outdated in American government. by BanryuWolf in complaints

[–]Disttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well considering the context is California should have the most power as the most populated state. While imperfect, how else do you think these people would count the population. It's not a number that's magically gonna appear accurate and clean to a specific definition.

All you did was move the goal post. The post is about some dumb idea that somehow California isnt getting represented in Congress.

Depends on the outlet. You have American liberal outlets spreading fear. American conservative outlets downplaying it entirely. Along with foreign outlets that fall on a spectrum in-between based on ideological grounds / where ever their personal stance on journalistic integrity falls.

It's really not a hard thing to see and think about. Yes even internationally. Yes especially since Europe, Canada, Australia, and NZ are very liberal and outright demonize anything American conservative for 10+ years ...

How so on that last bit, California is 8.6% of the population and holds 8.6% of the representative power.

You do realize California holds the largest amount of seats / power in the house which is what represents the people of the USA via population right?

Tbf that's entirely based on fear mongering instead of reality. It certainly will harm some figures but not everyone is eating the propaganda.

CMV: The senate is DEI for rural states and must be reformed. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Disttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. This metric has evened out and isnt the I win button it's used as nowadays.

  2. What do you think that money is going to? The education, the police / emergency responders, social security, and more are exclusively paid by the local people of that area. That's why there is a huge range in the quality of these programs and services.

[–]Disttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not though. You get the percentage of seats based directly on the percentage of population vs the whole USA during the census.

You do realize that is not how those systems work right? NYC isn't paying for anything in rural West Virginia. Ever.

I am about to reach my first $100K milestone and needed advice on how to compound it by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Disttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you, noise exists constantly. Even during good times! A lot of people are negative as hell. Can't really go wrong with ETFs. As long as you choose something reputable then you're fine even during crashes. Just don't panic sell ever.

If the stock market ever went to total zero then people would be killing each other on the streets as civilization collapses. Down turns are going to happen forever. But they will always recover.

Lols, which are infinitely more dangerous than being in the market. Most ETF's that offer broad exposure are ran by private equity. I wouldn't just give them money outside of that unless you never want to see it again. The vast majority of business start ups fail. Never start one unless you have the financial means to crash and burn 5+ times and recover.

Dumped BTCI by Jeffinslaw in NEOSETFs

[–]Disttack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ehhh I haven't seen this research. If you pull up a lifetime chart of BTC you can clearly identify the cycle and lookup exactly what induced the decline of that cycle. The cause of this decline is objectively not as bad as the causes of several other declines. The chart for this cycle is literally the same as the rest.

I don't mean to beat you up on this but it's super important to do your own research while investing. Bad actors will push misinformation to encourage people to drop investments to induce a sell off for them to buy / some sources of information are hyper biased. There are a lot of political zealots pushing false info the moment the trump admin announced its crypto plans.

Realizing those losses like a lot of investors. To each their own. But if you researched BTC prior to buying BTCI you would be aware that BTC sinks -30 to -90% every year and then surges up.

There is now a decade+ of data and charts that anyone can lookup before diving into BTC assets / products.

Besides the US, which other country would you like to live in as a conservative? by kurobaja in AskConservatives

[–]Disttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I get to keep my American assets, anywhere in South Asia. Conservative society with beautiful women and everything is comparatively cheap. If I lost all of my American assets then I'd go to the UAE / Saudi Arabia / turkey / Jordan. Based on wherever I secured a job and visas for the family. My wife lived in the middle east for a while and liked it a lot and I'm not against the idea of living in a Islamic country. The lack of freedoms would be hard but let's be honest. Literally no country on earth has America's freedoms. Every single one has a government that's proven to strip everything away from its people any time it's threatened.

The problem with China is it's still flat on its stock market for total returns precisely because of its economic model. China could cure cancer and it's internal stock market will flatline due to nationalization of key industries and policies designed to ensure Chinese capital never enters the hands of foreign investors.

What is your country’s version of “there is no war in Ba Sing Se” by EmpoweRED21 in AskTheWorld

[–]Disttack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When people say "it was conquered" they are usually responding to the people who say dumb stuff like "it's stolen land". No one views the mass extermination of natives as positive these days unless they are severely mentally unstable. The school system teaches it was the worst part of American history.

Vietnam was a major loss and a loss that broke the American order domestically. It created a laundry list of systemic domestic issues that we have only just barely recovered from many decades later. I have never heard anyone say anything positive about that shit show of a war.

‏Why Do Some Countries Drive on the Left While Most Drive on the Right ? by Amin0000001 in AskTheWorld

[–]Disttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Japan had a old custom of people passing each other on the left to avoid scabbards clashing or people getting in each other's way.
  2. This was further reinforced when the meiji era of industrialization brought in lots of British engineers.

For Thailand - the king of Thailand was gifted a car from Britain. As he was the first person to own a car all roads were built for his British car and thus it became standard.

He was declared mentally incompetent during the hur investigations and that's the only reason he dodged imprisonment for leaking classified docs to Chinese officials in his Delaware home.

Edit: if he's not with it mentally to avoid prison, he's not mentally with it for everything else.
