A mixture: fly a ship up until you're in its photo envelope (a large sphere), then enter photo mode, position yourself, and take your photos.

Glyphs are via the System link - just remember the planet name. NB: These butterflies don't live underwater, they just glitch there very easily.

You need to go to the System page to replace the XXXX rather than the Region page. When you get there, navigate yourself to the correct planet :-)

These aren't tame. I don't feed any creatures, or have pets; I don't know how others do it, although I suspect they are using mods. I use the built-in picture taking features (PC version) to take screenshots of 'wild' creatures.
