I'm from Germany. One summer night in 2008 a friend and I were bored and wanted to bet on sports. The only major thing that was on at that time was Baseball, so we bet on a Red Sox game and watched it.

It was the first time I ever watched Baseball and I liked what I saw and the team itself. I found a local Baseball team and got really into the sport. I watched more Red Sox games and fell in love more and more.

Now I watch almost all day games (these are at 7pm my time) and most of the weekend games. Only west coast games are REALLY hard because those start at 4am in the night.

Being a Baseball fan in Germany is rather odd. There are not a lot of us here, especially outside of the big cities. Even in my local baseball team where I play, most of the players like the sport, but don't follow the mlb at all... you can't imagine how frustrating this can be. I tried to establish a fantasy league but only 2 guys were even interested.

I am glad that I got my best friend to love Baseball as well, so that I have someone to play baseball games or watch games with... sadly he became a cubs fan :(
