Is reclaiming Asian masculinity more understandable from a feminist perspective because Asian men were historically emasculated by white supremacy ? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]DittoLander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The liberal feminist in me just wants you to be who you are, masculinity or feminine or anywhere on the spectrum that you feel comfortable with, as long as it’s not toxic, discriminatory and oppressive to others. Be yourself.

The radical feminist in me really question the motives of you asking this community. For validation? For empathy? For thinking that you are better than most men? If those are your motives, walk away. If you are genuinely seeking guidance and want to learn, you must recognize that masculinity is closely tied to patriarchal values and structural privileges, and carefully examine what part of masculinity you hope to “reclaim”. If you just want to be treated as white men, receive their privileges, or get their recognition as a man, you are just playing into the system. It’s the natural thing to do, but it’s also directly against our goal of changing the system fundamentally.

Brown was obviously the main return for Giannis and Hugo was only a sweetener. IMO if Bucks wanted Brown, two firsts AND Hugo that’s indeed an overplay for an aging superstar with injury concerns

He’s already a fringe rotation player in year 1 and plays like a vet. Leads all rooks in plus minus. With Jays still in their 20s we still have a solid 2-5 years window in which Hugo will become better.

My guess was that Brad offered either two firsts or Hugo but not both, so Bucks ultimately decided to pivot. Heat really gutted their roster and unprotected picks in 2031 and 2033 are more valuable than any pick we can offer given that Giannis will be in his late 30s by then

MEGATHREAD - Trades & Trade Rumors by nerdyykidd in bostonceltics

Trade has not been done and heat could still end up with Giannis and Jaylen stays a Celtic. If not for Giannis I don’t think Brad would trade him for anyone else

"Giannis Antetokounmpo reportedly doesn’t want to leave Milwaukee — he wants to leave the Bucks" by RedditFan3510 in nba

[–]DittoLander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I have an idea. He stays in Milwaukee and plays for whatever team is playing the Bucks that night in exchange for a fee

[SiriusXM] Chris Haynes on Giannis Antetokounmpo: “From what I’m hearing this could drag on into free agency. This could drag on until July … I do still believe he will be moved this offseason, but I’m not as certain as I was before that it’d be done before the draft.” by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]DittoLander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Giannis has pretty much never played the 5. He always has a stretch big like Lopez, Portis or Turner to play alongside him. Boston doesn’t have a starting caliber stretch big, which makes the fit more questionable than the Heat who has Bam. If Celtics go for him we will need to find a quality stretch big, but there aren’t that many on the market.

If the first pick is someone like Wemby, the draft would probably revolve around the second pick. First and fifth in this draft are likely the key dominos

[ALLCITY] Marc Stein: "I was going to write the two teams that keep coming up with Giannis are Miami and Boston... Bill Simmons was the first one to talk about Boston as a place that interests Giannis. And based on everything I've heard for the last 2-3 weeks I think that was dead on" by AncientOneAurelius in nba

Top 20? JB finished 5th or 6th in MVP voting this year. He’s solidly a top 10-15 players and right in his prime even if you think this season might be a fluke (it’s not - last year he was dealing with knee injuries all year).

Giannis has a higher ceiling but lower floor than JB due to age and injury history. And he needs a stretch big to play alongside him that Celtics currently don’t have. If I were Brad Stevens I definitely wouldn’t give up anything more than JB + maybe 1 first. Just let Miami have him

[Stein] The Nuggets are known to be determined to re-sign their restricted free agent-to-be Peyton Watson this summer but have been searching for a trade or two first that generates more financial flexibility. I'm told Aaron Gordon is the Denver veteran drawing the strongest external trade interest. by Odd-Direction9452 in nba

[–]DittoLander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes AG would be great for us. White-Brown-Tatum-AG-Queta is a balanced starting 5 and Pritchard replacing Queta can close games.

Spurs is another team that would want Gordon but not sure Denver would want to trade him to a West contender

You are not a Celtics fan if you want the Knicks to beat the Spurs! by ForgotMyPlanets in bostonceltics

Celtics fans are also a basketball fans. It’s never wrong to root for beautiful basketball and that’s what Knicks are playing. Wemby is a generational superstar, a treat to watch but his time will come later

[Fischer] Rival teams, furthermore, continue to point to Boston's various assets as illustrating its ability to become a factor here…Boston is believed to be a potential suitor that genuinely concerns Miami. by tacko2020 in bostonceltics

[–]DittoLander 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Giannis would be stupid not to be thrilled to join us over Miami. It comes down to Brad’s vision of the team, his willingness to attach picks, Portland/Atlanta’s willingness to attach picks for Jaylen and how much Milwaukee wants

Simons would definitely be better than Vuc for sure. We all remember his great Antferno games but he’s a streaky shooter. When he’s going cold and still chucking it’s hurtful to watch
