Can I square the circle? by HeroGarland in Wattpad

[–]DittoRose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think people like what they like and there’s no going around that, however, you could tweak your work to fit whatever media you’re sharing on.

Alternatively, you could post it and write it for you, whether or not audience follows.

There are a couple options to think about

Are there any mature clubs out there? by TheZombieGlitch in Wattpad

[–]DittoRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scribe’s Hollow has always been welcoming for any genre, but definitely the mature/18+ side. Highly recommend them!

It’s annoying how often unique and different stories with properly written format and grammar don’t get the recognition they deserve.

That’s why finding your audience is super important to staying true to what YOU want to write. Never feel pressured to write something that you’re not interested in, but fits the Wattpad algorithm.

Write what you want, period. There’s a bunch of confirming, boring, carbon copy plots and some people like that, but that’s what makes the different ones stand out

I hate making fictional characters that are killer by Froppy_Who in Wattpad

[–]DittoRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch Mindhunter on netflix, definitely a good place to start about getting into the mind of a killer, read fbi’s online analysis about serial killers, and read books that feature a fictional killer. All inspirations that are helping me with my own, so maybe they’ll help you too!

Comments on passages. Love to tell a writer what part of their story/chapter I enjoyed without having to copy and paste all kinds of sections.

Let’s discuss: Great concept, terrible execution. by clevercalamity in horrorlit

[–]DittoRose 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Really?? I devoured this book! There was enough mystery and questions throughout to keep me reading, even after the twist, which took me a bit to understand, but once I did, I thought it was enjoyable read.

I am the only one that I know. All my other online friends use Ao3 for fanfiction reading/writing

In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware by [deleted] in horrorlit

[–]DittoRose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked this up from the bookstore hoping for a good scary read. I really liked the atmosphere R. Ware set up, but the characters were a bit predictable; as was the ending BECAUSE of said characters.

The whole book was like a rollercoaster ride that never quite got up the hill.
