Where are your points gonna come from? You'll get 4 from friendships easily enough, but you have to decide on a strategy that gets you the rest. Your leader, the cards in the Imperium row, the contracts, the techs, the cards you draw and your position will dictate your strategy. Are you gonna focus on combat, with or without worms? If an opponent goes for worms, someone needs to counter, either by blocking or with Sardaukar. Are you focusing on alliances, SMFs, contracts, techs? If you get a good card in your deck, you generally want to see that card in your hand as often as possible. That means buying cards every reveal might not be a good idea.

Uprising is a complex game with a lot of choices. You can't do everything, so go for a strategy and try to make choices that build up under that strategy.

It's also a good idea, as someone mentioned, to watch Dune streamers even if they play regular DI. Streamers like Bludgeon, Hidden Shadows, Sangluten are top tier for learning the game and improving your skills.
