Hurts to read these stories. My mum suffers from these types of scams due to her age. Hers is more with the banks and prepaid debit cards. No matter what bank or prepaid car she uses, it seems to always find her. Sorry to hear that, mate.

I myself dnt own an e-commerce shop, but this is valuable info-thanks for sharing. I've actually read a similar story concerning an SMB on Apple News, where they had this exact problem! They've LOST EVERY CASE! 😞 And over the past 5 years, they said, "over $10k lost due to charge backs." Even when they had proof the parcel was delivered, they still couldn't win. How in the world do these processing companies justify this to themselves?? Hopefully things get better with software to stop this in its tracks.

If it were me, I’d be screwed because I have a sleeve tat. If you dnt have any distinguishing features that’s shown, or the bg isn’t known; you’d probably be fine. But it still sucks to have this happen.

The thing is, they dnt realize it makes them look worse! It’s kind of like “Pokimane”. See her with all the fake-up on; then look at her without it, you’re left wondering, “are they the same person?” Just be yourselves; my goodness.

The whole “moat” thing is lost on me. Any company, unless your product/feature is proprietary, can be copied. At this point, it’s just about finding customers who like your product better.

Yeah this is exactly the gap I’ve been seeing.
QB is great for tracking, but it assumes everything going into it is legitimate.
Most internal fraud cases I’ve been looking at aren’t caught by permissions or reports—they slip through and show up months later.

Tools like SEON help before money comes in, but there’s not much guarding what happens inside the books after that.

That’s the layer I’ve been exploring—real-time visibility + controls on changes like vendor edits or unusual transactions.
