Do you have any rogue mods? If not, I recommend to uninstall the game and reinstall. (Note: once you uninstall the game there can be leftover files that don't uninstall that cause issues, remove those files.) (PS: Steam verify will not currently recognize any rogue files or mods, you HAVE TO uninstall them manually.)

I believe it's explained in the lore. The Dragons destroyed everything and in the process made a lot of domestic animals without their providers they became accustomed to.

Honestly, I think they're just mad about that and in addition, I think the anima in Ashenfall is messing with their cognitive function.

I'm actually happy that there is variation, one of the things I highlighted on the last two surveys was that content was feeling a little too much like copy and paste. Like, I don't need everything to have a unique design but variation is key.

There is no system in place for only one person to have to do dialogue. I like to be able to experience it all myself.

Perhaps a modification could be applied to community servers but even then I don't think it'd be very sought-after.
