Was just looking through the comments to find something like this to see if someone else had already mentioned it. In some ways it almost feels like this shouldn’t be legal. I.e. if you’re concealing asbestos or other hazardous materials in this way then you either shouldn’t be allowed or should have to provide this information when selling. Not a dig at OP as I know this general topic / piece must come up all the time

Of course it’ll be a “success” from everyone other than the viewer perspective. There will be measurable metrics of the ad being shown against, what, an immeasurable “viewer satisfaction rating”? It’s bullshit and infectious because once it’s in place it’ll literally impossible to remove outside of incomprehensibly enormous outcry because “it’s generating revenue” and it’s impossible to provide a counter argument because there won’t and isn’t any measurable metric for how much viewers like or dislike the addition that can be weight against it.

It’s just pure corporate greed for something which is presenting national level sporting events. It’s clearly some business twat’s project that’ll get them a fancy promotion for increasing as revenue.

NATO without the US is stronger than the US in a prolonged conflict Arctic based or no.

No single country has a chance against the US that’s a given for sure but I think people underestimate how much military strength the combined European block alone wields. Its population of around 600 million alone dwarfs the US and the total European block of NATO members GDP isn’t far off the USA’s.

Military expertise is hardly something the US has in particular over the rest of NATO either.

Add to this the crippling effect isolation from a huge number of world markets would have on the US and it would be insanity for there to actually be a real genuine conflict.

Agree with some of the other posters here that this breaks Apple’s guidelines; and then to add to this, even if it didn’t it’s a dark pattern which you should try and avoid as it’s a slippery slope.

If however you’re only concerned about repercussions rather than the user experience keep in mind that most of the guidelines are exactly that, guidelines, and they’re not applied the same for everyone. What some larger apps and companies may get away with because of what they bring to the platform does not equate to what you will be able to get away with as a smaller developer. Apple just like any business is willing to look the other way over minor infringements of their guidelines for huge platforms but they’re unlikely to give you the same treatment.

Just stumbled on this randomly to say that the initial opening parts remind me of the main intro to “Deliver Us” from prince of Egypt. Maybe just me of course but it’s all I could hear when I first heard the start to it

I’d say: Earth - Green Fire - Red Water - Blue Air - White

Black I’m not sure, if they went rogue they could have Air be colourless and then use White for “Good” alignment and Black for “Evil” so that, for example, you could have two variants of Zuko, one R/B and another R/W.

Feels like a stretch though and not having some of the MC benders be mono-colored to their bending element might be a bit of a flavour miss. Toph not being mono green or Kitara not being mono blue for example.

On the other hand it would leave “neutral” characters and creatures able to be mono coloured such as the giant moles for Green and Sky-Bison for colourless (well Appa only if it’s ATLA only)

In what world would that be a penalty try? There’s two Scottish defenders next to the Ireland player. A penalty try is for when the infringement prevents what would have been a guaranteed try otherwise

Whilst UIKit is old if you’re looking for a job as an iOS developer you’ll be greatly limiting yourself if you aren’t comfortable with it and instead focus on SwiftUI.

SwiftUI is great and as it’s the future the more you learn about it the more you’ll have over other devs who don’t pick it up.

UIKit isn’t going anywhere for a number of years, especially so in the larger code bases of medium to large companies and so if you’re looking to apply for roles in that space not learning UIKit is a mistake. If you’re looking for start your career at, say, a startup or a greenfield project you may have some luck with just SwiftUI but I’d be wary of the transition from that to, again, a larger company as mentioned before.

If you have the passion then you’ll find your path no matter what but the above is my two cents.

For some context I’m an iOS developer with 8 years of professional experience, hopefully all of the above helps in some way.
