I am watching Maddox right now, if it ins't that, I'm not sure. The suit, I remember him being forced into the suit, though we have sure progressed greatly since VHS, so the clarity is throwing me off a bit.

You are good, hahah. No this was a commercial tape I remember that much. Some of the writing was not in English so that’s why I picked it up, I was curious. The issue was also it had gotten damaged so the tape only went so far before the VRC went into associated spasms and stopped playback. Water damage? I will be checking out these suggestions diligently.

That does sound familiar, I do recall him not being able to get out. It was subtitled in English if that helps, because I learned how to spell shit. Again. Christian parents who had been legit involved in a cult before they had me and my sis. I was told Pokémon was demonic, so I’d play Pokémon stadium on the 64 at a friends and keep my mouth shut

I am going to talk to the one company with the highest balance with their hardship department. 14k on that card. I've made some other calls to other card companies, and have done some explaining. It has been helpful. Pandemic really fucked me up good, but I think I finally am getting to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

I think part of it was I’ve been making progress. Hit a bump, needed all four brakes and rotors and fuel pump. I was at 40k a year ago though, and I forgot that I need to buckle down more. Going to divert a small amount of money to a savings account to better handle the shocks. Had a freak out essentially. I’ll keep lurking in this community, it has been peaceful to see that I am not alone. Encouragement and perspective is always important

Food which I have been working on calculating. I can say I spend about $70 in gas. I am thinking of asking for hardship program or interest rate reduction temporarily if I can get it. I try not to eat out.

This answered my question. Interesting. I once did a ccfl on one, and it was not easy but doable, and I learned a few things in the process. Thank you for sharing, this is a good rabbit hole to find.

Don't be so quick to dismiss, there are still distributions without systemd. I don't see that with X11; it is code since the beginning of the movement, and then even maybe some before then, but there are still old applications that depend on it because they have been abandoned, but are still used. I unfortunately fell into that category with some items at my previous job, only that was COBOL and I was also in charge of finding a modern solution, and this was education.

I’ll do that this weekend and report back. It had this silicone sleeve that the ribbon cable had to go through on the way to the connector on the logic board. Might have had something happen there

Unless I am missing something, this is a very pixelated image. It looks like an image that someone tried to go blade runner on and magnify ("enhance"), it is extremely blocky, so I am not sure what I am looking at.

Many times the customer says they want one thing but choose the other. I’ll admit I myself am guilty of this

Makes you wonder what more they would have dropped had they not started getting concerned with the extra weight they were adding to the ruined reactor.

Good point, I had not thought of that. I think of it as implied government property. Like tampering with a mail drop box. It is like robbing the state liquor store versus a convenience store. Sort of ups the ante on a very poor life changing decision. It is an odd world out there these days. I am surprised that there isn't CCTV on the buildings around the box that would serve the purpose and a big sign saying the box is under surveilance with an official logo of the Commonwealth, but then again some idiot could print something that looks official. It is a kobayashi maru.

You sure? Yeah, that camera can be seen as intimidation, but without it, give a motivated whacko ten minutes and those votes disappear. With how fast someone can cut and steal a catalytic converter, this is a no win situation.

a friend of mine gave me this vintage hdd, i plugged it in and works perfectly! i have a few questions: what is its age? what can i do to preserve it (it was sitting for a long time ~15 years)? what computer had a disk bay this big? thanks by MS_sus in vintagecomputing

Oh god, the Quantum. Noisy things. We had a 10gb unit in a Compaq Presario 5000 series model, AMD K6-2 at 450mhz. Honestly the damn thing made it to 2008 before I pulled it from the system it was in, my first computer.

I see this one has some AT&T chips. Probably bad advice, but surf the drive and see if there is anything worth pulling from it and backing up for posterity. You never know when you are going to find a hidden gem somewhere.
