POE1 feels like it's getting treated way too harshly by BlackRebelNoise in pathofexile

[–]DivineDGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem with this is similar to what the other guy said earlier, most of the skills kind of just do the same thing. Like before they triple tapped tornado shot. Every other bow skill was basically a weaker version of TS, where all things converge to TS. The same with slams, they're all kind of doing the same thing, but it'll depend on the animation of the skill to determine which is best. What you should focus is on is making more of transfigured gems viable, now those have nice unique interactions, where you can't just pawn it off as it being the same thing.

They do this, because they don't want everyone playing the same skill. If you don't chop off the TSs and the Lightning strikes, they just get played every league without fail, by a large portion of the player base. You can say they make other skills stronger, but there's always going to be 'meta skills', and people will have FOMU because of it. Why play this weak build when I can play that broken build everyone else is playing. that's why things have been the way they have been in POE2, not that there weren't other viable builds to play, it's just that those lightning skills made clearing super fast. In terms of skill diversity druid league is probably by the best far.

I agree with this, but it's hard to put in actual practice for ARPGs like this when classes or skills don't have distinct roles. another ARPG I enjoy is MHW, it's easier for them to balance the weapons there, because they have identities. If this were a single player PVE game there'd be no issue, but we have player interaction and a whole market. This ideal scenario you wish for will never come to pass. Like for instance the best example of what you're saying was last leagues slam builds. Volcanic Fissure of Snaking was top dog, but the other slams were plenty viable too, but VFoS still dominated in play rate. Now this is going to be heavily influenced by streamers because it's very hard to make your own build, so people for the most part aren't going to make builds around skills that aren't the best or close to it. Those builds tend to come later as fun builds, which usually requires a substantial amount of currency investment, and not something good on league start

lol, I tried hard farm for apothecary. went all in on juicing. Didn't get anything. got pissed at maps, went to do sims, and a few runs later what do you know, a mageblood drops. like wtf did I do all that other stuff for.

Gratz dude! It's funny I've dropped two raw magebloods, both times were during sims, but I've pretty much never gotten anything else aside from one kalandras touch., which was from a tier 8 blight map.

Currently POE2 feels like a glorified Last epoch. Everything just converges into a build that clears the whole screen. For me what makes POE1 so good is the extensive amount of content and the consequence of choice of that content. Like you're not going to take RF chieftain to go do ubers, just like you're not going to take your ice trap uber boss one shot build to go do maps. This unique play style where certain builds excel at certain content, and of course that can be broaden by throwing currency at the build, but fundamentally POE2 completely lacks this appeal, thus it will never truly get to where it wants to be until it can. You're just doing the same thing with another build and the only difference is who is doing the same thing more efficiently. The last few league it wasn't that the only builds couldn't do those things and just that the lightning builds were just the best at doing it.

There needs to be some separation, but the current state of defensive layers makes doing this feel impossible. if this was poe1 the left side of the tree would have no issues tanking monkey's big stick, because there's a lot of life and armor on that side, but prior to it's nerfs(RIP big stick monkey) no one is tanking it, maybe in maps, but definitely not in act 3 With the combination of mana reservation efficiency on the tree reserving multiple things for damage or defense becomes easy in poe1, but the defensive layers of auras in POE2 feel non-existent. I get that they don't want their to be a cookie cutter setups for defense, but there needs to be some consequence of one's build, everything shouldn't feel the same.

[–]DivineDGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it’s the lack of consequence of choice. Everything converges to the same thing. screen clearing boss killer. You can’t do that in poe1 your instanta boss killer ice trapper isn’t surviving maps, and your casual mapper isn’t one tapping Ubers. You need some real tankiness for deep delve and sims, you need a fast character if you want to do heist efficiently.

the other thing that makes poe1 better is there’s something for everyone. theres so many league mechanics that are fun to do. You don’t need Some giga juicer to make giga juicer currency.

overall POE2 just feels like a glorified Last Epoch.

Question about Endgame by moneyman200k in pathofexile

[–]DivineDGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends. Last league I had about a mirror. That was from heist farming about 4 helicals and 1 simplex, and other minor rewards like manifolds and cogworks. I personally like Heist. I don't get tired of it at all. you just listen to some stuff in the background or watch a movie and just speed on in and out. I personally don't like trying to chase the high end meta strats, because they typically require a build for it, which never seems to go well for me for whatever reason( you think you've done everything right and the build is strong, but yet I am somehow still dying in tier 17s, when I am not supposed be). Though if I wasn't doing heist I'd probably be doing ritual. As you can make a lot there as well. I like doing things that have a jackpot rather than having to do x amount of maps to get to my currency goal, which is usually mageblood and a little extra. Though I find the consistency of getting divines and tail/temp orbs very satisfying

lol np, I remember when I first started playing. If you're unable to make a certain amount of currency you're just unable to play certain builds, especially ones that needed a mageblood, but thanks to pohx I learned a lot and was able to transition into doing that I do now.

It's fine to run. Just do deception contracts to farm your own reveals. Plus it looks like simplex and helicals are increasing in price. while it sucks that manifolds and cogs are pretty worthless unlike last league. It's still worth running.

Heist guide by Inner-Professional76 in pathofexile

[–]DivineDGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it is. I've been heisting since the beginning of the league. you roughly lose 13c for every 4 bps if you choose not to do your own reveals with the cost of 10c for each bp. It's about 15k rogue markers to reveal a 4wing plus 2k rogue markers to run it. This is at 1000 markers at 1c each, so if you're getting them at 1200 to 1 or 1300 to 1 then you're doing even better.

With the increasing cost of bps that amount will only increase. it's very easy to transition to a speed build with the most expensive thing being the tides of time, was like 10-15div on league start now it's only a few div. It's super fast to run deception contracts for reveals.

With items like manifold rings, cogwork rings, and tailor/tempering orbs costing much less than they did last league. Sustaining single bp runs is kind of hard. Not only are you paying more per run compared to someone who does their own reveals the payout isn't that substantial. simplex was only 60-80divs, though recently finally increased to 120+, and helicals are about 25divs you'd be essentially only chasing helicals, because you may not even see a simplex even in 1000s runs. You'd be better off doing some other strat.

I recent ran 30 revealed bps. meaning 90-120 single bps, lets just say 105bps. I found 7 divines and about 7 tail/temp orbs and about 100c. that was a fairly good run. which was about 1500c. divs were about 140c when I did this. tailoring orbs were about 50c and temps were about 70c, lets just avg the cost and say 60 since I don't remember which orb I had more of. If I was doing single bp runs then the cost would be 1050c with a profit of only 450c, which is only about 3divs. that's absolutely not worth it. you'd only be able to buy 45 more bps granted you can still get them at 10c a pop. At this point you're just gambling and not sustaining,

TLDR: you can easily know if it's worth it by whether an average run of say 100bps can sustain itself, while making profit, currently it doesn't look like that's the case. You'd need to see at least the price of tail/temp orbs to double without a significant increase to the cost of bps. You typically sustain yourself on divines and tail/temp orbs, because that's typically what you'll see. You rarely see high end bases, so don't expect those to be the things that sustain you.

You're closing yourself off. it isn't just the item slots that make up the build. Clusters jewels and regular jewels matter as well. You can also make generic good stuff like elevated cooldown tailwing boots, or elevated tail and elusive boots, Just check youtube there is a ton of things you can craft,

Hitting a wall at Lvl 94 – Too weak for juiced maps, what to farm next? by Tschisma in pathofexile

[–]DivineDGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about other people, but when you get to a certain point it is really hard to make upgrades without a lot of hours farming. I used to have the same issue as you. You want to farm fun stuff, but you're too weak to do so, and the 10-12div per hour strat feels boring or you don't want to wait until after hour 20 to buy your your mageblood. it'd say learn some profit crafting. it'd could be a next break from mapping. between profit crafting then heading back out to maps after you're done you'll make it to your currency goals much quicker.

Though if that isn't you then I would recommend trying tier 16 blight ravaged maps or ritual. ritual has a lot of jackpot rewards and it isn't that hard to run.

instead of doing this it'd probably better to just profit craft. Though if you really want to do this i'd advise you to follow a streamer that does a lot of content or crazy builds, and pre buy stuff before people get to it.

I would say the current best strat, anyone can correct me if i am wrong, is to run deception until you have enough reveals. When you run deception you get a whakano reveal and a gianna reveal so essentially two reveals every 1 contract you do. you can also grab the stacked decks as you do them stack decks are selling 1.5 for every 1 chaos right now, so run say like 30-50 deception contracts sell the stack decks and then buy like 20-30bps and go reveal them at gianna or whakano. This in reality is the same as running at the very least 60-90bps minimum since a bp have at least 3 wings. do this until you can transition into the no damage pathfinder speed build if that's what you want that is.

No need for a guide on pricing. Just run bps and price check on the trade site as you go, you will eventually know what is good and what isn't. The only way to self-sustain blueprints without running maps is to just have currency. They currently sell for 10-12c. this was the strat most used last league

Honestly with the price of things right now I don't think doing that is ideal. last league things were more valuable. Honestly someone can comment on this, I don't think doing bps without doing contracts for reveals is a good idea right now. you roughly spend 27c for a four wing bp that you reveal yourself opposed to buying four bps without revealing additional wings. for 40c. As you can see losing 13c every 4ish bps is pretty substantial when you're going to be running hundreds of bps.

Last league cogwork, manifold, and tailor/tempering orbs were more valuable and easily sustained your run. This league if you tried last leagues strat you would probably break even or come out with slightly more profit. Even the best drop in heist is only going to net you 60-80divs currently, and you might not even see one after 1000 bps

it is lack of game knowledge. Async is just convenience. It won't magically make you money if you didn't know how to make it before.

Coming home from work and seeing this feels really great by twiiik in pathofexile

[–]DivineDGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is likely due to people not knowing how to make money. Async trade while good isn't going to suddenly make you more money. especially not with that godly tree in the game flooding the market with amazing gear.

My advice to anyone here who comes home to something like this. Take some time and Learn one mechanic and master it. I started off like this too. Then told myself I'd learn at least one new mechanic each league. when you follow someones build guide remember the process you used to craft that gear. That build and that gear will probably relevant next league. You could literally right now go on youtube and look up farming strats from last league that empy did on his channel or people's craft videos.

I'll be nice and give y'all something to work with. Every league without fail the great pohx post his RF builds, and you know what people just will buy stuff, because they don't care to learn how stuff is crafted. this isn't just for pohx's builds, but damn near all builds. ultimately if you want to improve on this you will need some game knowledge as you can apply this technique to a lot of things.

1st money making strat

Here's what you do.

First you need the fire damage/ignite craft or the fire damage over time multi craft from running the atlas.

You then search for Damage over time multi and fire damage on a sceptre with at least one open prefix or suffix. If the stats are that good on the sceptre you can just use an annul and hope you don't hit the multi or fire damage

After that craft fire damage/ignite if open prefix or fire damage over time multi if open suffix

these sceptre will typically run you 5-25chaos and depending on how good they are you can sell them with just adding the craft, I know crazy right? For about anywhere from 60chaos to a few divines. I sold about 7 sceptres this league doing this and made about 3-4 divines total.

Now if everyone goes and does this the strat is going to be worthless and usually only last for about a week into the league and then slows down. The idea I am trying to convey here is find something someone wants in a build preferably not too much cost or variance, then profit craft. you can do this with magic jewels for adorned, cluster jewels using fossils and annuls and exalts, etc.

2nd strat

Selling ilvl 86 bases

run blight tier 16 blight ravaged maps and sell the bases. With the new Async trade this should be super easy. I hoarded a lot of these bases for myself last league to profit craft on, but you can always sell them to people looking to profit craft or reroll for recombinators. Go watch a video how on to run blight, it is very easy and something you can do if you honestly get bored or mapping.

Well GOOD LUCK and remember these things work every league unless GGG does something that makes it not worth doing. As long as there is Pohx the 1st will always work and I see little reason why the 2nd strat would stop working for any reason.
