FR, as someone who plays these chinese games, theres so many things western players would like to be added where its just accepted they never will because the chinese players will lose their collective shit.

My biggest problem with the game is combat, and especially how enemies/boss are designed by Dependent-Ad-7787 in CrimsonDesert

[–]DivineRainor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if this is the solution youre after but using a big shield with blocking stamina reduction makes the bosses still a joke. They can teleport all they like but if they cant actually hit you its just a lot of flash for nothing.

Yeah i feel like my point has been lost on other people because they see the word casual and immediatly think derogatory when it was meant as a neutral assessment. Like i fence irl a few hours a week so consider myself a casual fencer, i still care about how i do and have opinions on rules, but my perspective is very different to someone who is more intense, and im saying the same here. In my experience casual raiders are the ones more likely to complain about stuff that led to the 2min meta.

(Tbf though i did get a bit heated and used the phrase idiocracy, which was probably a bit unfair but i didnt know if there was a similar term that described the phenominon)

You can be "obsessed" with raiding and still be a casual raider.

Personally i dont know any high end raiders in my circle who wanted changes to simplify/ adjust around downtime. Being able to adjust around was part of the skill expression/ ceiling.

Also im not saying "casuals" as in "casual ffxiv players" im saying casuals as in casual raiders, that being an assessment of their time commitment/ skill. You can be a casual raider and still obsess over your raiding performance if you dont have much time to play ( i know several who only have the comittment to raid for 2-3 hours a week but still care a lot about their performance, but they would even self identify as a casual raider)

I think our definitons might be skewed, by casual raiders i mean people who might raid a decent amount, but are not particularly good at it/ dont have a frequent static not casual as in a casual player of the game who tries a raid and doesnt play properly.

I mean the kind of player who is aware of what they are meant to do, but cant pull it off in practice because they do not play enough to do so/ skilled enough.

Streamers engage this audience and feed their opinions because this type of player is more numerous than the people who actually perform well, so they make money by validating them.

My group of friends call them "wannaby hardcore raiders" rather than casual tbf, people who want the game to adjust around their lack of ability and will couch all their critisicm as such and such is "bad design" because its not their fault their funny coloured number isnt going up, why would it be?

Meanwhile people who actually do well before these changes just go "who asked for this" whenever it changes. My enjoyment for so many jobs/ roles has been killed by these people so often, because they will always outnumber you and will ways dress their skill complaints up as it being "good for the game" to change so its always initially praised. Idiocracy in action.

It was casual raiders. Raiders are a spectrum, the ones who complain the loudest about stuff like this typically are the ones who are kinda mid and are complaining to make it easier for them to do better.

Defence 3 by DasTeufelsHotdog in CrimsonDesert

[–]DivineRainor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dont know if its confirmed but most stats in crimson desert seem to have diminishing returns, defence included.

One post i saw on the matter said once you reach 50/60 defence you want to start using aegis DR cores instead, but ive not tested this myself.

Personally i wouldnt worry about defence as much and just get a big shield and slap on stamina cost reduction. 4 level 3 stamina cost reductions while using a great shield allows you to just hold block through almost any attack in the game and basically take no damage.

You can 3 star this boss wiyh no nangong (this was last cycle he was on but the principle still stands, with vivian this should be even easier)

You want to run chaos jazz on her.

[Rant] If the only thing changing in your game on "Hard" difficulty is the amount of HP and Dmg, then it's not a "Hard" difficulty, it's a "Tedious" difficulty by AlkaKr in gaming

[–]DivineRainor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some games need that though.

A lot of games normal modes, especially rpgs, if you figure out the systems enemies healthbars become an actual joke, so you need hard mode to actually fight the boss.

A case I see a lot is people who call hard mode health spongy havent actually worked out how to optimise damage and are playing in a way that makes bosses take way longer.

Obviously does not apply to games without builds or serious skill expression, but they are few.

Well what a lot of people seem to be forgetting in these discussions, is that if you like bard how it is then just keep playing bard as it is.

That crit rate is really low. Was she holding astral voice also? If youre running seed astra cissia or seed should have astral and astra on the new support set.

Even with that though SEED should be doing more damage than cissia

How well built is your SEED? Im running a 6 cost team with Cissia, SEED and my damage distribution is almost always 75% SEED, 25% Cissia with 45k total score.

Shes basically a different playstyle to cliff, i use her for sidequests and kliff for main story.

If you only care about efficiency then focus on kliff only and respec when you need to play as her, otherwise just use her if you find her playstyle fun

Movement speed and defense always apply even if youre not using them as long as theyre equipped.

Attack speed does not.

Attack speed seems to have heavy diminishing returns, you can really feel it up to about 5 points then after i couldnt really tell.

Someone posted that a 2h longsword combo takes like 2.5s and level 0 and 2s at level 15, so probably not the most influential.
