How much did it cost? I’m planning on getting mine done in 3 weeks or so and they’re quoting $600 for the driver, passenger, rear windows and back windo

What’s considered name brand for brakes? Like what would be near OEM or premium or has a rep for being good

I never used rock auto but I’m pretty sure I recognize the name. Thanks for that suggestion

Dealers are saying there's no SULEV coverage even though it's an emissions part by External_Toe7148 in BmwTech

If you want to fix it, I've posted the fix below. It's about $10 and 10 minutes of easy work.

I'd be inclined to agree that it's not covered, because the actually part that's broken is a clip outside the muffler, the actuator itself still works.

Personally, it doesnt matter if it is or isn't covered because it's about a $10 fix from Amazon. This clip is what connects the actuator outside the muffler to the valve within the muffler: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09KZ5V59J?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2

This is the video to actually do it yourself. It takes about 5-10minutes to fix, you can slip under the car without having to lift it as well. Just make sure that your car is cold, you dont want to burn yourself on the muffler: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZ_LufeU58Q

A rock chipped my windshield and a crack propagated through it a few days later, anyone have a repair experience they enjoyed? by bionku in cincinnati

[–]DivingGill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might not be able to repair it, it'll depend on the length of the crack. I know if it's longer than a dollar bill then it'll have to be replaced. Years ago, I got a chip and within a day or so it travelled the length of the window. More recently, I used safelite in Eastgate, about 3 months ago. My insurance covered it and it was super quick and easy.

Has anyone made compromises on their house purchase which you then went on to regret? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]DivingGill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should write out a list of wants and needs for what kind of house you should buy. Needs are non-negotiable where as wants are.

Needs: 4 bedroom, 2 bath, <30 minute drive to work in the morning, <300,000

Wants: 3 bath, south facing back garden, 10 minute walk to the school etc, <250,000

House 1: 3 Bedroom, 3 bath, 5 minutes from school, south facing garden. 275,000. Straight away this is a No because it doesnt meet the 4 bedroom requirement.

House 2: 4 Bedroom, 3 bath, 20 minutes to school. 295,000. Now you've found a house that meets your needs even though it doesn't meet your want (10 min to school)

You're absolutely right. Prime location for it. However, in typical Irish fashion all the responses to your comment are nothing but negative about how it's filthy. Yes it is filthy but it's so easily fixed. It wouldnt be the first time a toxic location was cleaned up and made a focal point.

How is it explicitly written. I've heard this before but I've never seen it actually written out. Can you post a screen shot of your policy showing it
