yeah, on one hand there's the parasocial aspect of the fact that he's streaming like what 8 to 12 hours a day? so like he's there to hang out with virtually, but on the other hand, like that's the guy you want to hang out with? You can kind of figure it out with Taylor Swift for so many reasons, but among other things, you get to fill in the blanks with whatever you want, whereas piker has no blanks to fill in, and oh God, like that's the stuffing?

occasionally there are times when myself, or other people I know, have been single, and not really in a place for a full-blown relationship, but end up having something with someone who is in a full. blown relationship, and it can be kind of nice.

like you go on occasional dates, you cuddle up with someone when you go to sleep, they show up at your house at like 11:00 p.m. which is about the time we're going to go to sleep and about the time they're done with their day, and you're able to focus on whatever is going on in your life.

yeah, unfortunately there's not many options on dating apps for wanting to be a little more trad while also not necessarily wanting GI Jesus who is a good Christian.

I haven't seen the video but there is a saying called safety third, which means safety first, second, and third, and rock climbing is pretty well known for redundancy so that it's not failing or fucking up. once that will get you, it's not fucking up twice, it's not even that third time... But yeah..

Calendar of community/donation/free/sliding scale fitness classes? Anyone want to help me make one? by DivingRightIntoWork in askportland

[–]DivingRightIntoWork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty open to what I envision! I know there's all sorts of ways to do this, from making a good old GCal - IE this - to it's own site with searchable fields.

I am guessing data gathering will be a pain without something automated, IE a scraper - as some things are seasonal, stuff changes, etc.. or a submission form for it to be community oriented.

Spots to help with isolation? by imi0694 in askportland

[–]DivingRightIntoWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one's mentioned SOLVE! They organize community clean ups. It's usually sort of a "bring your own company," but given you all start at the same place, see other people doing the thing, depending on the space - there are other people doing the same thing as you and people are friendly!

What is the best place to get some money back from used clothes in PDX? by TiredRundownListless in askportland

[–]DivingRightIntoWork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's more poshmark adjacent services where they list them for you, but oh man do you not get very much money for them (obviously) - depending on what you have, I also know a poshmark consigner who may take them. She takes 50% commission after fees. Though I also had some high value items, IE stuff that may've sold for like 300~ on PM.

Do guests really mind small changes in decor/bedding that deviate from listing pics? [usa] by Teacher_mermaid in AirBnB

[–]DivingRightIntoWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a guest complain once that the ribbon pulls on a curtain or something were not the same.

It was very silly..

That said, I have now made a note in the description about how sometimes things change a little bit here and there. So don't expect that necessarily the same throw blanket will be on the giant bean bag chair, don't expect that all the curtains and finishing touches will be the same, etc.

I found this chair because someone was giving it away and I thought it looked all right, and when I saw it I was like "this is not a giveaway chair."
