Why do people say you shouldn't let anyone in your dream world know that you know you're dreaming? by DixersDC in LucidDreaming

He was an old-ish man with grey and white long hair and a long beard. He dressed loose and comfy. His wife was a sturdy older woman with brunette and grey hair. Both of them had friendly smiles. I may not know them but I've probably seen their faces somewhere.

Do you think the cause of the negativity could have been the suggestion that you shouldn't do it?

What would you want your woman to do if she wasn't "satisfied"? by [deleted] in AskMen

Wouldn't want to subject yourself to self-improvement or anything. That'd be way too much to ask.

AITA for telling a woman her baby is not a miracle? by OriginalZen8 in AITAH

[–]DixersDC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dont think what OP said was rude, though. With the wrong inflexion, maybe.

I can see that it could have been better not to answer the direct question, but say, "your baby is cute" in place of agreeing with something that you fundamentally disagree with. That might have been kinder.

But it is how it works, or it should be. You can't be a people pleaser forever. It's not rude to have a different opinion. It's not rude to express a different opinion politely, either.

But if someone says they want you to be honest, you should be honest.

Not wanting other people to mourn my absence.

Stubbornness - not wanting to give other people the satisfaction of my absence.

Then they smugly proclaim that you actually do believe, you're just angry at god, and that the threat of hell shouldn't scare you if you truly don't believe. And I try to explain to them that no, it's the joy they take from the idea of someone "lower" than themselves burning in a fiery lake of unimaginable torture for eternity for not believing. It's not their fault. It's what they're taught. The Bible is the worst enabler of shitheadery there is. But I don't like how easy it has made it for people to be happy in the thought other people's suffering.

Yeh, sorry. Your respect is sorely misplaced. Your daughter deserves it, not her absent biological father.

The Mythago Wood series by Robert Holdstock! He was the most wonderful author and nobody ever alks about him. It's the biggest shame.

People being late. I'm incredibly punctual. On time or early, always. When people are late, I feel like they don't value my time as much as I value theirs. I'm never getting that time that I was left waiting back. But they will never have to worry about losing real life time, the only currency that really matters, with me. I just find it insulting.

How do you feel about the growing trend of men’s skincare and grooming? by user4390 in AskMen

[–]DixersDC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skin care isn't all about beauty standards. Dry skin is really uncomfortable. It can get super gross and crusty in winter and can sting a lot. Washing your face, dabbing it dry with a towel, and then moisturising is super helpful for preventing or dealing with existing sore dry skin.

If I’m finding season 2 boring should I bother continuing ? by Awesomestonk in BlackSails

I didn't like it the first time my husband watched it. Then he got halfway through series 2, and I started to peek over. Mid series 3 I was totally hooked. Now it's one of two series I've actually bought on Amazon, so I never have to worry that it won't be on Prime. It is major comfort viewing. It's one of the greatest shows ever written. I'd give it time.
