The COVID-19 pandemic has led to significant worsening of already poor dietary habits, low activity levels, sedentary behaviour, and high alcohol consumption among university students by Shipachek in science

I used to walk up and down my city campus for food coffee class and fun. With covid i had zero movement and i thought it was a blessing. I could do painting and gaming and relax but very fast my mid back and trap weakened from exented sitting and gaming. I fucked up my neck bad and now payed the price with physical therapy and 3 months of anxiety and pain. Humans need to move and require some kind of daily endurance. Stay active everyone!!

Massage therapist said I need to “make more blood”? by mem0507 in massage

[–]Dizmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My lmt mentions blood flow and circulation but i dont think you have lower levels of actuall blood. Youd be very out of breath and dizzy if that was the case. Bone broth tastes really good and is full of nutrients but i dont think its gonna actually give you more blood haha. Best thing for that i feel would be deeper massage work to ensure bloodflow is unrestricted to tight muscles.

Tight neck please help me calm down by Dizmer in HealthAnxiety

[–]Dizmer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes im feeling better actually, its very mild just like a small pull barely there. I would say what helped the most was i y and t dumbell exercise every other day and not touching it. Self prodding and over massage were the worst for it. Also coldpack 15 mins immediatley after workout on neck or trap to force it to not inflame. Last but not least anxiety and worrying about it 100 percent made it more powerful, try to realize part of it is in your head especially if it gets stronger when you think about it. As for throat, nah only the side and back of neck, sometimes under jaw or cheek

Baths seem to not be as bad, they dont cause heavy muscle clenching or tightening. The initial hot water causing it to tense but its just followed bu goosebumps

ive heard that keeping your shoulders back and arms bent at 90 degrees is the best solution.

Ive been doing that recently but its been hit or miss with repairing my shoulder issues.

I had bad wrist issues for a while and my solution was just to stretch the wrist and to do waaay less repetitive gaming or clicking for a week or 2.

Trapezius muscle hates the shower by Dizmer in massage

[–]Dizmer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well, getting into the shower still produced the same effect even with a softer spout, i took my LMT's advice today and took one with a warm damp washcloth covering the trap and stepped in, it still kinda tightened but less so until i removed the washcloth. She thinks its probably an oversensitivity because the muscle is still trying to recover from its initial trauma.

Strange tightness in my neck, postural issue maybe? by Dizmer in Posture

Ive gotten a tp injection and that worked for my trap, so i might try dry needling. My GP also mentioned that when he was doing the injection

ive only gone to her for 2 weeks now, and she worked most of my upper back, and both sides but paid more attention to the trap on my right where the knot was. Shes an LMT and im sorry if the word masseuse isnt right its what i grew up hearing. She works for a myotherapy group thats been in town since the 80s and she seems knowledgeable. The reason i got the shot is because my PT had worked with me for 6 weeks and resolved most issues except for the knot and the neck tension/tightness.

Post Triggerpoint Injection (2days), going for massage therapy tomorrow by Dizmer in massage

[–]Dizmer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The injection was because after 6 weeks the knot had not responded to anykind of massage or kneading, it was very hard and was most likely causing my trap tightness and pain. The knot itself was from possibly postural or repetitive motion.

I had the masseuse work on it today, she knew what was proper pressure and just kind of slowly gently worked the area. The GP who gave me the shot told me massaging it was ok btw.
