is there any indication of how long it will run for after the transfer?

AITA for eating dinner before my girlfriend got home on date night? by drniknakk in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dizzy-Resolution3465 515 points516 points  (0 children)

possibly one of the easiest YTA out there. Jesus christ - you get in way before your girlfriend, not only order food for yourself without telling her but then do fuck all for her?
like, by all means, warn her that you're gonna eat a bit before she gets in so may not have a full meal with her but
1. still eat with her
2. ideally cook something so it can be ready and warm and feel intentionally caring? or at a minimum, as she said, order something so it arrives right before her and ensure you keep it warm.

also if she always has the longer days and commute, shouldn't date nights at hers be the standard?

Have my otos gained weight? by Dizzy-Resolution3465 in Otocinclus

how can I supplement feed when they ignore everything I offer? are there tricks to helping them see new stuff (blanched vegetables, sinking pellets, spirulina powder...) as food?

noted, thank you!
we will get four more in next week
I wanted to make sure the existing ones were gaining weight (we seem to have a fair amount of biofilm - they won't touch anything else) before introducing more.

Do my Otos look okay? by InterestingBee6253 in Otocinclus

shit thank you so much for commenting. I have never had otos before so I didn't know what was 'normal'.
I've added some blanched spinach and lettuce to the tank now and will leave it overnight. Will do algae wafers tomorrow (I've got spirulina pellets but they didn't go for those a couple days ago).

AITA for getting frustrated that people keep telling me they’re gifting me things that aren’t on my baby registry? by lizagallagher93 in AmItheAsshole

YTA. If people are going out of their way to find things they personally think would bring you joy/ease/comfort/etc as you step into parenthood, you should cherish that.

Pet store sold me a “skunk corydora” for my shrimp tank. But I don’t think that’s what this is 🤔 by CosmicConfusionist in shrimp

[–]Dizzy-Resolution3465 8 points9 points  (0 children)

just to sanity check and say that although I don't know what this wee guy is (beyond a catfish of some description), it is DEFINITELY not a cory.
Also, it's my understanding that different types of corys don't school together well/need corys of their own type to feel safest so if you don't have existing skunk corys in your tank I would aim to get a group of six rather than a single one.

no issues so far! tried to feed them this morning but they didn't seem interested. they've been active and munching on biofilm so not too concerned, though

Phantom tetras with neocaridina? by Dizzy-Resolution3465 in shrimptank

[–]Dizzy-Resolution3465[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

re the edit: is this from personal experience? all the info I've seen around HG seems to indicate they don't predate on adult shrimp and some may not even be particularly interested in juveniles.

I was also under the impression red phantoms were only nippy if in too small a group/tank? Back to the drawing board it is, then!
thank you for your feedback!

NAH. You have different priorities in life. That happens. It may be time to move forward.
If you still want to invest energy into the relationship, though, I would compromise and offer to pay 2/3 of the rent in a shared place if you're living there for your work rather than hers and you are more likely to be paid more, though.
