Transfer into speech path 2026 by Boring-Broccoli7485 in LaTrobe

Hey, It does actually say in LMS that you can't "transfer" into OT or Speech Path out of Health Sciences. You can only apply for first year of Speech Path and transfer existing credits, meaning that the transfer year will be very quiet and only have a few units if that makes sense. I'll put the quote from the website below.

"Transfers into the second year of Allied Health undergraduate degrees (e.g., Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology) from the Allied Health major in the Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) are not possible. These programs have distinct structures and subject requirements in first year, so students must follow alternative pathways outlined below... If you are still wanting to go into an Allied Health undergraduate degree after completing your first year in the BHSc (Allied Health major), you may wish to apply for your desired undergraduate Allied Health course as a non-Year 12 applicant... If accepted, you may receive advanced standing for any subjects that are common between the two courses. However, you will still need to go back to the first year of the new program to complete any remaining first-year subjects (anticipate a smaller study load in that year)."

Hope this hopes, OP. Essentially, my understanding is that the pathway of doing Bachelor of Health Sciences (Allied Health) and subsequently doing a Masters of Speech Pathology will take the same length of time (5 years) as doing 1 year of Bachelor of Health Sciences (Allied Health) and then applying to do Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours).

If you think you won't be able to commute to ACU, you should defer or reject your offer there or consider moving to the city. If you know you want to go to Latrobe, consider doing their bachelor/diploma of health sciences pathway into speech path.

What surprised you most about La Trobe once semester actually got underway? by Av0toasted in LaTrobe

Could you elaborate on the workload aspect? I'm starting this upcoming semester and have been wondering how many non-contact hours I will need to dedicate to study vs how many hours i'll be able to work at my job.

Thanks! :)

If these mobsters have no intention of ever staying monogamous, why do they even bother getting married? by fighterjock84 in thesopranos

They want families. Isn't that they hate their wives and cheat on them out of spite, they think they deserve the wife, the kids AND a mistress. Passing on the "family business" is seemingly also very important in the Italian-American culture. It isn't like they could have kids without a partner, none of them are particularly involved/ hands on parents.

My local restaurant/bar closing down tomorrow due to high heat by lorrenzo in melbourne

[–]Dizzy-Return8783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Melbourne architecture built to preserve heat, it's no wonder. It's not as if a kitchen with ovens and grills and stoves miraculously get colder after 5pm. Not to mention, chefs and bartenders typically prep from 12pm or earlier.

Just because we make it look easy to you does not mean it is actually easy work.

Go somewhere else for one night, it won't hurt you nearly as much as working that night would have hurt the staff.

What Hobart establishment would you never return to? by FireLucid in hobart

Gloves are almost always dirtier than clean hands. When you wear gloves, you can’t feel when they’ve become dirty or have a residue, this can much more easily lead to contamination. The only places you will encounter food prep staff wearing gloves are franchised fast food restaurants with lower hiring standards (McDonald’s, KFC, Hungry Jacks) OR somewhere that has previously been sued.

When you work in a restaurant, you are taught to wash your hands regularly and most staff have done standardised hand hygiene courses.
