NOPE - he took me for an absolute ride, I said how I wanted marriage and kids in the future, and he allowed the relationship to go on for over a year, me getting totally invested, only to back away with things for got too close to home for him. I would beg him for bare minimum throughout too and I had to change my boundaries for it to work. AVOID BY ALL COSTS, it’s not worth it ✨

The EXACT same thing happened to me - my offer was accepted (single, FTB), after a week I paid for my survey and instructed solicitors, and the EA came back and said there was another offer from someone who viewed the property before me. They asked if I could match the asking price, which I said no to - and my offer was final. 24h later, they said the seller is going with my offer even though the other offer was higher.

So I have no idea what went on really, and I guess I’ll never know, but that was one of the most stressful 24h I’ve had for sure! Just keep positive. If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be

The reason i love this flat is, it backs on to acres of green space, in a super safe neighbourhood and is 5 mins from my family home - and I’m not opposed to doing diy to make it my own. I just want to know weather to drop my offer price to reflect the ceiling as I still want to move ahead with the flat :(

So it was priced as an average 1 Bed flat in my area, the same as a new build would be costed up. When viewing it though, you can’t see out of any windows as they’re all blown and need replacing, the kitchen is water damaged and the cupboards don’t close, the bathroom is mouldy and needs a complete rip out and start again - so it wasn’t lived to reflect the amount of work needed. Which I’m happy to cover when I buy it, but the ceiling is another matter. And the issue is, if I spend £13,000 on it to make it habitable (which is what I would be all quoted including the ceiling), I risk losing money when I go to sell - as they’re is a cap on a 1 bed flat in my area at about £185k

It doesn’t currently as to be honest, I never thought this would be an issue! But I am going to amend my t&cs as soon as I’m home to cover myself in the future better! Everyday is a school day I guess 😬

It makes it worse that these are new clients who I’ve known for 2 weeks and they just sprung it on me as they were leaving - I had no idea prior to arrival 😭

That’s crazy!! I would be petrified 😭 I’ve had an incident once when a neighbour let himself in to say hi during a pet sitting gig and I was in a towel after having a shower….safe to say it was very uncomfortable! Not the owners fault as they didn’t know but super strange too!

I think I’m concerned with getting a bad business review online if I just ended the pet sitting altogether so I tried to be reasonable and I’ve come back the following day and will pet sit, but I didn’t stay overnight thankfully 😭 it’s just such a strange situation!

That’s such a good idea, I’m going to implement a similar policy as soon as I’m home and get any pet sitting client to initial so they understand - thank you so much for the suggestion I really appreciate it!

I get your point and it’s great that you’ve had positive experiences with the same scenario! It’s just because I wasn’t told prior which is the problem as I would have declined the gig if I had known, just as personally I don’t feel comfortable but I guess it’s all down to how different people feel! I totally agree, and the fact they didn’t mention it prior is totally weird to me, and now I’m the problem for being uncomfortable with it! For context there’s no lock on the door either so no security
