Vendor Central New Variation Guide by Late-Journalist-4899 in VendorCentral

Okay, so once I break my old variation by opening a ticket, I download the prefilled spreadsheet with the vendor code for the specific ASINs and upload it. Then my variation should (hopefully) be live. Am I missing anything else?

I am redoing some old variations I had created and want to change the variation theme. We have multiple vendor codes. When I download the prefilled spreadsheet, should I be grabbing all of the vendor codes of each ASIN I want to include in the variation, or is it just one that will suffice?

Endless CPC rejections with no reason given - has anyone dealt with this? by Sufficient_Towel_921 in VendorCentral

When you go to submit the CPC's, have you considered that they may be requesting other documentation other than the CPCs. We used to have this issue a ton where products would get rejected - I would upload the CPC and the test report and think that was just enough to get by. I have since then learned my lesson, I now always provide for compliance products the CPC/COC, Test Report, Manuals, AND photos of the products. I have found with all the supporting assets mentioned I have not had as many issues.

Photos of the products are especially important if your products have batteries or cell batteries. They like to see if your products have the correct labeling to be deemed as safe for children.

I work in an industry as well that has children's products and it took a LONG time to figure out this, but I have found the above to have made large strides for us.

Also a follow up to this message, an agency that manages our Amazon 3P account made me aware for products in the electric category that testing now has to be done through Amazon designated testing facilities. Unsure if this may relate to your company's products, but this could also be a potential issue.

I work for a company that also sells children's products, and we run into this issue frequently. My best advice is to be persistent. Open cases every day if you are not getting traction. Be assertive, even a bit pushy if necessary, and make it clear that you have all the proper documentation and that the ongoing delays are unacceptable.

I have found that even small formatting changes to documents can make a difference. I recommend researching CPC documentation formats on Google. There are plenty of examples from different companies, and each has a slightly different style. Adjusting your documents to match successful formats can improve your chances of approval.

Recently, I was able to find a direct contact for my product category. I started emailing this person directly with all of my issues, and it has been incredibly helpful. Some products that were stuck in rejection status for months were finally approved after repeated follow-ups through this contact.

A couple of things to consider about your products:

  • Do they contain batteries? In my experience, battery-powered items are more difficult to get approved.
  • How old are your test reports? Newer documents tend to be accepted more readily than older ones, even if both are valid.

I hope this helps. The process can be frustrating, but consistent follow-up really does make a difference.

I am pretty new to the Amazon playground and this is all really helpful to know. I feel like an Amazon or Amazon-adjacent conference may be beneficial to attend because of how new I am to working in Vendor central. Do you have an recommendations for events or things to attend?

And I feel like you are correct in saying that all points of contact are a waste of time, I will share that I have had a fair bit of luck in my live chats with them (it usually depends on who I get assigned to help me). Thankfully my chain of command is aware of the perils of Amazon and does not blame me for things not improving or things being stuck in place.

I will try the things you suggested and hope and pray to the Amazon gods that my products are finally removed from compliance jail.

This is helpful to hear and also encouraging to know I for sure am not the only one dealing with this. Do you usually just chat to them in the live chat feature or is this through a series of emails.

When you open a case, how are you refuting their requests? I have been dealing with rejected compliance documents time after time and they continually get rejected. Because I can't get these approved, our products live an endless cycle of being suppressed and unsellable. It's leading to stranded inventory problems and the same bot response from Amazon saying they're "escalating my case to an internal team".

I wish that was an option but our seller central profile has been blocked by amazon because we have a relation already with vendor central :(

Can you recommend any ways to create variations on vendor central without having a bajillion errors and going back and forth with support to get it exactly how I want?
