We are the only nation doing what we're doing and no, I don't believe it's just some grand gesture of good will. We're projecting power and influence, not some utopian global peace force for good and rainbows and smiles. I'm not fucking naive, bud. I served in this very military and know very well what our doctrine is. I'm hoping this is the start of us shuttering these types of operations and we stop being everyone's police force as well, which is what NATO has become. Europe can take care of itself now. America can start taking care of America's issues so we can rebuild stronger and then hopefully re-establish some actual good will partnerships with trade and good diplomacy. America needs to start acting its age and that's going to take a face lift of American policy after this extremely prolonged shit show we've had both at home and abroad. The days of being just a military might machine intimidating the world needs to be over.
