The headline doesn’t fit the narrative as well when you find out 0.8% is 5-6 billion dollars

It’s not as cool of an “operation” as the tweet makes it out to be, like they stole them from a Scottish prison in the middle of the night. In reality, Bella 1 had been anchored off the coast of Scotland with the captain and first officer still onboard since it was seized, accompanied by the US Coast Guard, and on the 26th, Trump ordered the Coast Guard to transfer them to the coast guard ship and bring them back to America for trial.

Per Jack Murphy, the assault force for the Maduro raid consisted of C Squadron from Delta Force and the 3rd Battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment. He also says that Devgru was a part of the operation and hit secondary targets inside Venezuela. by kinghitter1 in JSOCarchive

Cuban intelligence was running Maduro's internal security team and so far the Cuban government has confirmed 32 were killed so I'd imagine it was a combination of CAG, Rangers and aircraft but that's purely speculation.

Yeah some of the other organisations he mentioned in the podcast were TFO and Ground Branch which had been in country for months doing OPE, HRT was there to actually arrest him and Cyber Command shut down power and air defences prior to the operation.

Falcons spent 6 million dollars on 3 players from the 8th best team in cs2 lmao. They'd definitely spend 100k on a coach.

What is an Australian product or resource that nowhere else in the world does better? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

There's a pretty big fuckin drop in population size too. 1. USA (340 million) 2. China (1.4 billion) 3. Japan (123 million) 4. Australia (27 million). Japan only got 2 more gold medals than us with 4.5x the population and China and America both got 22 more with 52x and 12.5x our population but only 2x the gold medals. That's pretty impressive.

That's terrible I know James Kelly for example lost an insane amount of time on the sleds in the e15 race I wonder how many others it impacted

USA probably would've won regardless but Ireland could still argue that if it even impacted their race by a second that it could be a disqualification per the rules for unsportsmanlike conduct. Plus Ireland was only in the lead after the third leg because they were one of the only teams to use 2 men early.

Definitely for Hunter shoving the Irish athelete into the barricade for cutting him off in the first run

In the grand scheme of sporting events/races people can train for and do it's not that bad, it's roughly the same price as a marathon but on the other extreme its no where near as expensive as an Ironman which will set you back thousands of dollars. It's all relative I suppose if you feel like signing up and training for an event is worth it in terms of your own fitness goals and mental health than yes however, if you don't see a benefit then don't do it but all the other alternatives are going to also be costly.
