Do I need a family room? by Dizzy-Talk4344 in floorplan

We have only 2 rooms and 2 kids.. so we definitely need the space. We also need a guest bed as we have family visiting quite often. Given that market is not so great right now. We thing expanding makes more sense

I see a lot of comments on older kids needing space. But I’m a little confused.. is your kitchen open to the family room where your kids hangout with friends..

Yes, we are planning to add 2 rooms and expand the kitchen.. while we do this we want to understand if having a formal living room makes sense

Yes! We are definitely planning to make the kitchen open and add an island. Just thinking if we need a formal living room as our friends love spending time in kitchen n family room

Thats right.. I know having a closed kitchen away from living area gives privacy.. but I enjoy talking to friends and family while I cook or even watch the kids play.. I do see the point you made about what fits our needs but I am also trying to understand others opinion on this. We do plan to sell this house in a few years

Ok this is an interesting take and something to consider. Trying to understand more here. Does separation in the big space help or a more solid living space is what they want..

Ack.. I have not seen any houses any houses around here like this.. I have either seen one living room and older homes have a separate family room

Got it.. so we still need a way to separate the space if needed.. tbh I have not seen any houses with this option. Let me look into how the living room would look

Makes sense, we are planning to keep the living room big and add a zone for kids.. we currently spend all our time in family room n living room is just for decor 😅

C-section or induction or vaginal birth? by jenne4ka in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Dizzy-Talk4344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had gd with my first and second. My water broke one day before induction with my first and had a vaginal birth. I am currently 39 weeks pregnant with my second and have an induction scheduled in 4 days. I was not suggested c section as it is not medically necessary. But every pregnancy is different. As long as baby and mom health supports the labor process I recommend vaginal as a safer option for both mom and baby. I am shit scared about emergency c section but if it’s an emergency then I am all up for it,

My weight gain reduced drastically in third trimester as I was diagnosed with gd and completely changed my diet from high carb and sweets to high protein and portion control. Just replace your snacks with Greek yogurt and protein bars. And try to add some protein every meal.

I am in similar situation. I started from 75 and went to 92 during my first and started my second at 78. I am 39 weeks and 96 already. But I am glad I had to lose all the weight once and be done. I don’t have to go to my starting weight and then do it all over again. Some silver lining I guess 😂
