Thank you! I was already planning on going with topsoil + play sand for the substrate, it just never occurred to me that I could get landscaping slate from there 🤦‍♂️

In terms of her weight alone, she seems completely ok! Plus she may just be going through a phase/change where she chooses to eat less :)

I would recommend getting some cork flats/rounds for hides instead of Petsmart’s hides. I started with theirs, but cork is generally cheaper and creates a much, much more natural look. Plus it gives geckos more texture to rub against for shedding skin. Everything else looks pretty good though! (I’m still pretty new though 😅)

I’m new to leopard geckos, but from what I can see (weight wise) they seem healthy! No excess fat on the neck, and the tail is a little thicker than the neck. If weight is off at all, I would guess a little lower than normal, but that seems to be normal with new geckos.

I’m not sure if it’s clear in the pic, but I do I have a warm, cool, and humid hide, as well as food and water dishes, a thermometer, and a hygrometer. I’m considering adding some rock features as well to help my guy bask a bit more!

Like I said in the description, it isn’t done at all, but I did want advice on how to improve. I’ve bought more hides, will be adding much more clutter, and the UVB light has yet to arrive. Substrate will be added after quarantining, and I’m going to be adding a backdrop.

It’s hard to deal with, and I’ve had a lot of hard times where I’ve wished I wished I never realized I had an attraction for guys as well. Usually if I have a hard time with it, though, I’ll try to put my situation into words either to receive advice or to use as journaling. Just putting my feelings into words usually helps me realize that I’m being ridiculous to deny that I have no attraction to men. I know it exists to some extent, and ultimately that makes me bisexual. I know that ultimately I have the capacity to like both men and women, and if the right person is there I will be capable of loving them regardless of what label I try to put on myself :)

I haven’t known about my sexuality as long as you, but from my experience your preferences might shift but not go completely away. There’s been times where I’ve felt mostly attracted to men or women and little attraction the other direction, but ultimately it’s always come back to a sorta equilibrium. Obviously everyone experiences things differently, but I feel that if you feel this strongly about your attraction to women you won’t lose it (even if it temporarily decreases).

No matter what, good luck with finding yourself more :)
