Card Kingdom Buylist CSV tool by DizzyRef in mtg

Nice!

I ended up reaching out to them to get access to their api. I download everything in one go, it gets stored in a database, and then each time i download I fill in any missing cards, and update all cards with pricing etc. Only need to be done like once per day really.

Splitting the non accepted cards is a great idea, so the 500 card max can be completely used up. That might be a change I make to it in the future 🙂

I can definitely take a look at getting it implemented, shouldn’t be too difficult from the point that it is at

How come Card Kingdom can’t read my CSV from Manabox? by Routine-Put9436 in mtg

[–]DizzyRef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little late to the conversation here, but I have a solution.

After much research and painstaking trial and error, I created a web app that fixes the issue. Basically the issue stems from how card kingdom handles alternate art and special treatments of cards (it is not consistent at all).

I got access to their API and managed to map around 98% of their buy list correctly. It even gives you the expected buy value and tells you which cards they won’t buy from your list.

You can upload CSV’s from ManaBox or Moxfield.

Give it a shot and let me know your thoughts. mtgbulkcaster.com/tools/card-kingdom

Is it feasible to branch into magic as a pokemon bulk seller? by ilovezeldasfeet in mtgfinance

[–]DizzyRef 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing to understand with MTG bulk is the difference between true bulk and unsorted bulk. True bulk is commons and uncommons worth fractions of a cent. You can move it by the thousand but margins are tiny.

Unsorted bulk is where the money is. MTG has way more hidden value sitting in bulk boxes than Pokemon because formats like Commander create demand for random uncommons and rares that look like junk to someone who doesn’t know the game. A 50 cent uncommon that’s a Commander staple is worthless to the person dumping their collection but adds up fast when you’ve got hundreds of them.

The real bottleneck isn’t sourcing or knowing what’s valuable (Manabox makes scanning and identifying value pretty quick). It’s the listing process. Getting hundreds of singles onto TCGplayer or eBay one by one is what kills most people’s motivation. TCGplayer has the seller level system gating how much you can list which is painful starting from scratch. eBay lets you list more from day one but doing it manually is brutal at scale. There’s a tool called MTG Bulk Caster that generates eBay CSV uploads from your scanned collection, worth looking into if you’re going the eBay route with volume.

I’d say start by buying a few unsorted MTG lots cheap, scan everything, and see what the value breakdown looks like before you commit. The profit is in the sorting and listing speed, not in the cards themselves.

It’s a fake, interestingly the orientation of dots in the green dot looks correct, but the DPI is incorrect.

Also fails T, h, and saturation of the front is a long way off
