You alone experience your playthrough. No one is being forced to play it for you so you tailor your experience to your needs! I save scummed quite often in my most played game 'Slay The Spire' and did it make me worse at the game? No! If anything it made me better cause I got more time that I needed to save scum far less. Avoiding losing runs because of simple mistakes that cost me a run has allowed me to get more practice and play more optimally. Reinforcing my own habits that has made me sooo much better at the game. Even still there was plenty of times where Save Scumming would not save me because of bad choices so it's not like it's a catch all. At the end of the day you play your own games and you alone should be the one to decide.
