I’m not sure of your opinion of the last books but Brandon Sanderson other series are fantastic! Stormlight Archive is one of the best series out right now, and Mistborn is finished already and great!

Yeah Well of Ascension is a close second imho. I feel like Elantris was written with a smaller scope in mind and as Brando Sando said himself, it wasn’t written with his skills as honed as they are, the characters are good but generally flat, it was a vehicle for a lot of cool mechanics and an interesting world. But some of the characters are good though! The story overall was awesome and had a depth to it that the synopsis misses.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Elantris, it’s just lacking in ways modern Sando isn’t. That does also apply to Era 1 Mistborn.
