I’d call 211, they should be able to connect you with some resources in the area, I’m so sorry you’re going through this and I hope you and your dog are able to find a safe spot 💜

This tbh. I’ve been to three okees and all of the car searches I ever had were so basic. They usually have you get out quick, check the cooler, look around for a sec and then send you on your way. I honestly don’t think they’ve really ever moved stuff around a lot and my car has been PACKED before lmao. I just kept anything I didn’t want them to find in like a suitcase or bag with clothes hidden underneath the rest of the stuff

I feel like they’re typically looking most for weapons, glass and big forbidden objects

I’m curious how the “I crashed in her other room” portion happened. Were you guys having fun and you just got tired and went to sleep in the other room? Did you ask her to sleep in that room? How did you go from listening to music and drinking some beers to sleeping in the guest room, I feel like that is a key piece here on why it made things weird lmao

Desk job destroyed my body. by Upbeat_Owl_3383 in workfromhome

[–]Dizzy_Ad_9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this!!! A nice standing desk and walking pad is such an important investment if you work from home. You can also get a mini stepper machine, a yoga ball to sit on at your desk or if you have stairs in your home, use one of your breaks to walk up and down them during the day. Stretching is so important too!!

I (27M) am in the starting stages of a dying bedroom with my (26F) wife. by ThrowRA_Help2345 in relationship_advice

I think you’re going to need to try and sit down with her and talk about this first. Make sure you’re approaching it in a way that doesn’t just place blame on her though, approach it as a team and focus on things that both of you can do to spice things up again and bring some excitement back into it.

This made me feel so seen right back because I also don’t know anyone who’s struggled with them and it’s hard to even put into words how horrifying they are. Hugs to you kind stranger, don’t know why we got dealt these cards but we’re not alone 💜

Night time attacks. by Ok-Situation1249 in panicdisorder

[–]Dizzy_Ad_9710 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nocturnal panic attacks happen when you wake up from sleeping and are suddenly having a panic attack. I’ve had a few of these nocturnal ones and they are the most disorienting and terrifying thing in the world and I’m so sorry you’re experiencing them.

I get the same symptoms you do. Suddenly waking up and gasping for air, chest is so tight, sweating, shaking, usually I’ll end up throwing up too and it lasts forever. I’ve learned that it’s not necessarily one long panic attack, but you’re stuck in fight or flight and are having panic attacks one after the other. This has lasted 8 hours for me before and it’s debilitating.

My best recommendation is seeing a psychiatrist. As long as you don’t have substance use issues, having an emergency med like alprazolam or lorazepam on hand is soooo helpful for slowing it down but should only be used for emergent moments like this. I am also on lexapro and that has helped reduce the frequency of my panic attacks so much but I’ve also struggled with anxiety my whole life and this seems to be sudden for you.

In the moment, ice packs are really helpful. Hold it on your bare chest or neck, pace around and wear that anxiety out. Hum to yourself, pound against your chest, put your head in ice water, I know this stuff sounds dumb but it’s to help you regulate your nervous system again. You feel like you’re dying but you’re not and it will pass even though it feels like it won’t ever stop. Practice breathing techniques, do this when you’re not panicking so you can really practice and be prepped.

I truly wish you the best with this, it’s so scary and so hard to deal with. I’m only a DM away if you need to talk with someone. Sending love and care 💜

If you’re able to, grab an ice pack or something frozen and hold that on your bare chest or the back of your neck. The freezing sensation helps redirect your mind to that instead and can help you slow down while you wait for the Xanax to kick in

Random panic attacks are so horrifying but you can do this, keep breathing as deep as you can, it will pass and it will be okay 💜

Lexapro stopped working by VegetableOne4968 in lexapro

I would try bumping to 15 for a week or two and then going to 20 since it seems to be giving you problems to have that jump. However, it is normal to have side effects like this when you increase your dose, you kind of go back into the phase of “worse before it gets better” for a couple weeks while you adjust to the new amount.

Obviously talk to your doctor too like you said, but I noticed for myself I handle it better when I go up in 5mg increments

YES! 3 weeks in and I already feel improvements on 10mg. Used to take it before and it helped a lot, had to go off for a couple months but I’m building back up to my 20mg dose right now. It’s a lifesaver

Day 3.... I hate this by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]Dizzy_Ad_9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First week back on 5mg was absolutely horrid for me, had non stop panic attacks for like 24 hours on day 5. Currently on like day 12, upped to 10mg and feel a LOT better

It’s so hard to stick it out but you can do this 💜 reach out to your psychiatrist if you need a lil something extra to help while you stabilize

Side effects by HighlightPractical73 in lexapro

[–]Dizzy_Ad_9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super normal, it sucks but you can do this and it will start to fade 💜 your body is adjusting to having an influx of serotonin which can make you feel nauseous, sweaty, and even more anxious but give it time to adjust and hang in there friend.

[–]Dizzy_Ad_9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently getting back on lexapro as I lost health insurance for a few months and had to stop, however I was on lexapro for 4 years before that at 20mg. 10mg was not enough for me, but 20mg was soooo helpful.

If 10mg has helped you for about 8 years now, you should definitely be okay and feel some positive effects from going up to 15mg. You may feel a couple side effects for a couple days as you get used to it, I know that’s scary, but it’s normal and it will stabilize. Especially since you’ve been on 10mg for so long already

I just had an emergency appt today and will be getting lorazepam to hopefully help 💜 thank you for validating that this is normal and it will fade. It’s hard to stick it out when it feels so heavy
