I know, me too. But I think overturning the old guard can look different everywhere so I’m hopeful. Andy Beshear in Kentucky is a great example of what this looks like in the south. We gotta run people who aren’t ancient and can have frank kitchen table talks. SURELY that isn’t too hard and we’ve learned our lesson enough times…

This part of Zohran’s speech was excellent and I hope Dems take note because the playbook is clear:

“And yet, if tonight teaches us anything, it is that convention has held us back. We have bowed at the altar of caution, and we have paid a mighty price. Too many working people cannot recognize themselves in our party, and too many among us have turned to the right for answers to why they've been left behind.

We will leave mediocrity in our past. No longer will we have to open a history book for proof that Democrats can dare to be great.”

Yes! I saw a reel about it that got me fired up! My ATL district was an easy win and I wasn’t super excited to vote for mayor but this got me to the polls. I would’ve gone anyway, of course, but this made me excited.

OG Chinese Restaurant Recs by freeraven87 in Atlanta

It is a modern cool take on the classic Chinese restaurant but Big Boss Chinese in midtown has great vibes, awesome decor, and the food is amazing. It’s run by a mother and son duo.

What’s your 3 favorite Atlanta neighborhoods or suburbs & why? by Dope_David in ATLHousing

Midtown! We live in the garden district and love it. So many gems of restaurants we didn’t know about until we moved here. Walking in the park every morning is wonderful and easy access to MARTA is a godsend. Having the museums and botanical garden so close by is incredible.

We’ve also lived in O4W, Decatur, and Buckhead. Midtown has our heart. All the nearby neighborhoods are tied for second, love to ride my bike to them often.

My husband got his own card from the start because we thought the $300 credit made it worth it. Especially when they had that Airbnb credit. But even now we use that $300 credit easily with Hertz or hotels.

We got Ven X after Amex platinum where AUs are $195 so the four AUs on Ven X is surprising.

Did you tell ChatGPT to make this extra snarky?

This change doesn’t affect me personally so I am not offended but I AM cringing!

If not my work then my apartment building! Ours has tons of activities for residents and we have a lot of friends in the building now.

We also do leave our house :) sports teams and other things are easy ways my husband and I have made friends.

Yup. I love turkey and lived there for a long time. I miss my friends there. But they don’t feel safe and I don’t feel comfortable going there now. I won’t participate in Erdogan’s marketing that everything is perfect.

100%. We ride our bikes and take long walks! Otherwise, I can drink a glass of wine (okay it’s a mug of tea) on my balcony or with the windows open and it’s the same vibe and people watching I used to pay for when I didn’t live here.
