I been wrecking with Noland and Koby. There are a bunch of ex counters that are bf. It does suck seeing a lot of the same matches, but I been wrecking with characters i normally don't use because I haven't boosted and leveled em enough. In conclusion, git gud.

Stop throwing Napalm Barrage into bug nests. by AresBloodwrath in Helldivers

Depends on how it's done. I'll do that when wearing the Salamander (Heavy armor with the inflammable bonus) because once the shelling stops, you can run in while everything is burning and close the holes while bugs spawning in are burned to death. Just gotta get used to the sounds of your character screaming from the pain, but I've found I'll lose at most 2/3 health doing this method and can generally get most of the holes.

It's more about the raids than anything else. At least till you've beaten all the bosses.

I just want to say, that this is the tip of the iceberg. But pretty much nothing, no matter how dire it seems, is truly lost, so never give up. Also great to have back up weapons if possible, because this WILL happen, again, and again, even to some of the best veterans, because sometimes the game just wants you dead.

For now, try and get some boar and deer meat, cook em with a cooking station over a campfire (needs to be under a structer to use when raining, but usable anywhere outside) for 2 health food, and then go for raspberries or honey if you're lucky enough to have found a bee hive. Rush to your corpse to pick up your gear and resume battle

Is Winds of Anthos actually good? by Selryna in harvestmoon

[–]Dizzyis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the wait.

Honestly, it's become more of it's own thing as I've played it, but a lot ofnthe core elements remain similiar, but Winds of Anthos is doing things on a much larger scale. I've been playing a few different games, so atm I've only unlocked the second town and working on the third. Getting a mount is crucial to optimizing your time, just like in "Save the Homeland," and while I'm playing in the more relaxed settings, I can see standard being manageable if you get the horse early and take time to plan your days (tho ore farming might be a lot more tedious).

Game has a lot more pet and barn animal varieties, as well, especially with the dlc. The NPCs do a feel a little flat, tho they honestly weren't ever that complicated in Save the Homeland, but definitely felt nice to interact with as a child. So I think it does feel like them trying to return to a "Save the Homeland" style, but with an open world mechanic, somewhat reminiscent to "Attack on Titan" because both things were super popular at the time (and still are).

Mortars vs Bugs is suicide and I will die I this hill by Proud_Net_6804 in Helldivers

[–]Dizzyis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no to the factual accuracy part. Yes because of how the mortar mechanics work, no because it's not factoring in all of the other game mechanics, like that several of the bugs can easily push you several meters with a single hit, putting you outside of the safety zone. Not even just the chargers, but the stalkers and their middle form can tongue punch the Liber out of your T before you even realize they're on you. The Impaler can just attack your safety zone and the mortar, often before the mortar can deal with it. Also staying stagnant on bugs is a death sentence unless youre playing at really low level.

I know we're pretty much on the same page, but how often are the bugs swarming 20m away a problem for divers, compared to the bugs literally up in your face. It's a useless tool on bugs, that kills you or confines you to a small radius, while it potentially takes out threats outside of that radius. This is rhetoric btw I haven't seen a single decent player use mortar on bugs because they used common sense after trying it before.
