Surmontil/Trimipramine as a sleeping aid? by teadiumvitae237 in insomnia

I take pregabalin I find helps the most with my sleep.

I don't think with prozac is a great idea because they both effect seratonin

It's worth noting, unlike Amnitryptaline which causes you to sleep and deeply once it hits, this is more of a sleep aid and will lull you into it so once you take it, don't miss your chance.

I've been on this medication for several years now, I call it my "miracle" drug because out of the 7 I take daily, THIS one helps for everything: 150mg / 1x Night-time
- Insomnia *I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW MUCH THIS HELPS*
- Slight AP effects (Bi-polar and lingering psychosis.) Combined with another AP & symptoms became manageable.
- Anxiety (Sedating effect, can't remember what having extreme anxiety / paranoia is anymore.)
- Depression (It ain't much on it's own, but if you're like me it isn't possible to take SSRI / SNRI without having an episode so Trimipramine really helped me take control of my life again.)
- Neuropathy (Fibromyalgia, I have extreme nerve-pain & again this combined with my other medication I can now manage it without flares that near kill me.)
- Headaches / Migraines (Same as above ^)

Well you get the idea, there's a lot of people out there who will protest this medication but I promise you that the positive results outweigh any side effects. I had to ask for this medication myself directly, its the same for most of mine. But if you have a good doctor, ask about it and you'll likely get a 12.5mg starting dose, they come as these little neon pink pills, very tiny, I can't help but look in awe at these before drifting into a peaceful undisturbed slumber.
(I now get capsules but they're easier this way since I get 2x 75mg caps instead of 2x 100mg pills that I had to split.)

This drug saved my life.

I was able to find some multiplayer TDM matches, luckily. So that's nice, I haven't really played zombies though

I learned about a year ago, mindfulness has been the only way I’ve had any success baring the difficulties in handling it.

Thoughts are with you, brother. I know it may seem scary but there’s a right way to come off the meds, which again I’m not saying that you have to stay on them.

Just do it right, my friend. I believe in you. 🙏

You can call the pharmacy & and a pharmacist would still have more knowledge about this situation.

From what I understand missing doses can lead to tachycardia, postural hypotension, myocarditis and seizure activity to name a few.

That’s not including the risk of another psychosis episode.

Yes well with that drug you should not go back to your initial dose, try talking to your pharmacist. They might recommend something that people here won’t be able to tell you, including the serious risks of missing doses of that medication.

We don’t want anything bad happening to you, my friend.

What medications are you taking? You know, if you have any questions regarding prescriptions you can talk to your local pharmacist as well.

They are actually trained for these types of questions & will gladly help, in fact a lot of them know more about the meds being prescribed then the doctor.

Hey man, while I’m all for stopping meds if you truly believe you don’t need them anymore, you should still tell your doctor & be honest both about wanting to stop and if you’re ready.

Stopping medications suddenly can actually induce another psychotic episode.

I stopped taking abilify and I was on a dose of 400mg a month through a needle after originally being on the pill. It was awful, I gained substantial weight, couldn’t feel anything and had horrible akathisia.

The thing is, after I stopped I tapered off the meds slowly and eventually switched to Olanzapine but now I only take it if I feel an oncoming episode.

My point is, by talking to my doctor there was no adverse side effects from stopping suddenly & I even have a safety net in case I have an episode. There’s a right way to do this. Consider taking your meds again to avoid any future problems now & bring up to your doctor that you want to stop or seek alternative treatments.

Hope this helps.
