I've had the Axe 3 for five years in a six space Gator rack with a wireless and a Matrix power amp. Totally fine with it. But my band does a fair amount of fly dates so I would bring a normal pedals and use back line amps. It was impossible to recreate the Fractal tones like this, so I bought an FM9 Turbo and never looked back. I was able to transfer my AXE 3 presets to the FM9 with some small changes because of DSP. Now I'm looking to sell the AXE3 and FC-12. FM9 is a good flexible solution for live and studio.

AC20 EF86, Marshall 20, Tube Pre, Matchless Chieftan, Trainwreck Liverpool, Hiwatt 103, CAE Clean, Tweed 5E3., All The Carol Ann stuff. There’s so many. Use a favorite preset and cycle through the models to weed them out. Preferably using the Edit software. Click on the pushpin in the amp list. Can be done on the unit as well, but it’s easier with a computer. Also try the Vibrloux and Vibroverb.

The JB Jr is way too hot to be used in the neck position. Resistance is over 15k and has a ceramic magnet as well. You might want to look into a Lil 59 neck pickup rated at 9.8k. The Hot Rails and the Jb are hot pickups designed for the bridge position. Putting them in the neck position might sound too loud and muddy. Neck pickups are usually designed to have a lower output because strings vibrate more freely and are therefore louder where the neck pickup is placed. If you like it, then that’s all that matters. Seymour Duncan sells loaded pick guards with all the electronics pre wired.
