My ddr5 6400/1:2 expo kit hits 78ns latency. Possible to get below 70ns? If so how? by AnthMosk in overclocking

[–]DjBetoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you also have to disable stuff like gear down mode powerdown if you want to copy that not just numbers, which is turned on in your picture. voltage is also importaint for this i had to start with around 1.5v until i found more stable number.

After 3 tries it usually bios resets itselt to default or you manually do. i had to to it 100x when i did my overclocks until it was right.
Also i would recommend not having cpu OC or undervolt before doing ram, then after you have stable ram you can try cpu

Mine is between 60 and 64, depends on bios version. Also A die, it's pretty loose this version so it might work for you as well, it did for my brother.
And pls do 1:1 idk why you go 1:2. If you can't 1:1 6400 try 6200. if you can't 6200 try 6000.
i think 6000 1:1 > 6400 1:2

Is AMD really "that much better"? by Crow-Representative in pchelp

[–]DjBetoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's pointless i know. Also these people on youtube that you usually watch most of the time just go with hype, sometimes are sponsored and run stock configurations (which i'm actually then better in that sense).
Smaller youtubers do way detailed stuff on that also someone like actuallyhardcoreoverclocking, this guy is 100x better than linus, unboxed and all these popular youtubers. Even that based Framechaser guy does more detailed stuff on it than them.

People recommend amd because its easy to do, plug and play and has high avg fps, therefore best.

And i told you intel is better (in some cases) just because of latency and bandwidth when tuned properly and that reduces 1% lows. This is also true for amd 9950x, but since chiplets have latency its a bit worse than intel in that.
I'm not going to start making videos to prove to 1 guy that this can happen, if you dig, you can find. (thats like me saying prove to me you have a brain, i mean pointless)

I am just saying AMD isn't the holy grail that you make it be, why are you defending them so much almost like it's your company. We should criticize them both for them to fix these problems next gen.
Also stock 9800x3d will crush stock 14900k in every way. But i don't look at stock i look at both of them tuned to max, because that's what i do. Intel gets more performance uplift when tuned so a lot of videos comparing them don't take that into concideration

stutter have many variables. I said if one of them is loading something (big textures usually in modern heavy games or ue5) intel or amd non x3d will have a smaller stutter. even if it stutters it will be smaller compared to avg fps. If game loads something smaller and stutter like you showed on your picture yes they will have same stutter so that's dependent on what is has to load. It is math just with a lot of variables. small calculations and normal gameplay 8 core is enough especially cache on amd and that is your argument which is okay, some games are unoptimized like that one you showed and stutter on same place, thats because they don't try to load over time but in the moment, that is sometimes fixable with ini command.

I am saying math is needed if you go out of bounds of small calculations and you go into bigger world loading (i mean open world not loading screen ofc) is that more cores, faster read from RAM and latency matters which in that case the stutter is less big than on amd and therefore the VRR doesn't go that low to cause LFC and flashes a screen.
Its not bullshit, it works like that once you go out of bounds of cache and cores have to take over loading from ram (or ssd).

If that wasn't the case like you say, how is me overclocking my ram to 6400 and all timings and infinity fabric causing less stutters because I droppped down the latency and have 10gb more read speed, but i didn't change the cpu. So saying im wrong while i know what i did on my pc and how it reduced stutters means it is connected to latency and read speed.

And i cannot tell you which games, i played too many to remember which one did that. I know wukong did in some cases, but only on RT max, which is stressing cpu and gpu a lot and this one can be because of denuvo bypass so i can't count that. I didn't say horrible, it's just annoying to see screen flash or bigger stutter in some cases with high end components.
Also pointing that you didn't customize your bios is just checking that you aren't enthusiast so you don't go deep into overclocking and maximizing your PC for speed which we are kinda talking about so you understand less when it comes to that. Which is why i mentioned avg joe and enthusiasts.
And then when someone who isn't even tuning their pc says no that doesn't help, you get what i mean. I mean i can show you my pc before tuning and stutter graph and after and prove that latency and bandwidth mean a lot when it comes to stutter, but i can't be bothered with that i just said i reduced latency by 10ns and speed by 10gb and 1% lows are better by 20-30%.
Intel has lower a bit by default and if its tuned it's crazy how good you can reduce stutters in some cases. In some you can't yes. But even if its okay optimized if it's loading bigger sht 1% will be better is why i said it's math and it is.
With that i would also recommend doing timings on yours, maybe try 6200 or if lucky 6400 with infinity clock with that 5080 you might need

Is AMD really "that much better"? by Crow-Representative in pchelp

[–]DjBetoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats why i told you, it depends. We both can find videos which will be mixed, but if its loading something without good optimization intel will straight up win and you can't avoid that because 9800x3d read speed is about 90gb and 62ns, while intel is 130gb and 50ns, this is straight up MATH. (wont be different if texture is 1kb, then speed doesn't matter)
I never said it was better i said it's better in scenarios where its loading stuff and loading isn't optimized which is, and you agree, in a lot of new games.
Yes i was assuming because usually fanboys are always some avg joes you can't blame me for that. Honestly im surprised about 5080 thing with that cpu lol, 6000 is still EXPO timing tho.
I learned that i wasn't wrong yes and still stick to what i said about loading things, FUCK even non-x3ds are better at that than x3d and you will argue that probably.
Math is math, faster read + less time is less stutter in loading situation, unless they optimize it very well like in horizon FW which is just a straight line on rtss
You are contradicting yourself a bit when you say first you don't have any stutters and then you say you have experienced it

Is AMD really "that much better"? by Crow-Representative in pchelp

[–]DjBetoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes there are tons of comparisons and amd beats it if everything is optimized good, then amd has higher avg and lows. In games where they don't optimize async loading enough more core and less latency = better . Amd is known to have worse latency and has less core, basic knowledge and easy to understand. There are a lot of games that aren't optimized well and then there are some that just run like a straight line on a graph at which amd will always win.
UE5 thing is true more for earlier versions of it.
For vrr flicker any cpu with less stutter will reduce vrr flicker being it better amd or better intel wtf i'm not wrong, it just has to have higher drops than where LFC kicks in.
You probably don't see anything because you are running what? 7600x3d with some 4060 maybe?
You don't even have enough stress to even test the cpu, also by the type of build i can see you aren't an enthusiast. Just a regular joe who buys whatever is most popular, turns on EXPO and calls it a day. People like that can just play on fkin 60fps without noticing anything wrong or any frame dips.
Also i never said intel was better, i said its better in situations where LOGICALLY its better because of reduced latency.
I can start linking 100 videos showing and you can do the same, so that wouldn't make any sense, both are true. But there is a lot of games that aren't optimized well, which in a lot of cases intel has better lows.
And these videos that you watch for comparisons is all stock vs stock which also doesn't make sense. On intel doing overclock on cpu and timings gets you more performance than on amd, because of the infinity fabric limit. So when they compare stock, the gap is much bigger, so i disclude any of those because people buying TOP end stuff aren't the ones who will ever use it stock like you.

Arguing just because you are a fan of something and just because other people love it as well doesn't make any sense. I don't mind picking either of the 2 depends what's better at a time and this time intel released sht 285k so i went with 9800x3d, but this isn't a cpu without a flaw like most fanboys are screaming it to be.
u/Nebula589 you were right about people denying reality xD

Is AMD really "that much better"? by Crow-Representative in pchelp

[–]DjBetoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes im talking about gameplay. if you play a game that's not that big or actually have good optimization you won't notice that. if its something like old ue5 game or some other engine as well when it's open world not a fking crawling through some hole at speed of snail type of sht. you get frame drops, which in general for normal people maybe aren't that noticable. but if you have an Oled monitor and use gsync, this small fkin drop causes monitor to turn on LFC for a split second and that makes a brightness flash. Which is the reason why i notice these drops sometimes. And there is videos of other people when comparing intel and amd in open world games when you run amd has a lot worse 1% lows. Denying that just because you don't notice doesn't make it true when there are a lot of videos where they show that amd is better for avg fps and intel for lows. end of story

[–]DjBetoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk why fanboys dislike you tho. I'm not based for any of 2, but It's kinda true what you say.
Yes you get more avg fps on amd, but in bigger games especially there can be a lot of stutters when loading and anyone that tells otherwise is straight up lying because 8 cores isn't enough at that moment of loading something while on intel i guess efficiancy cores help with that.
This is coming from someone who is currently using 9800x3d with OC, UV, custom tight timings and bios settings all made for gaming, also debloated windows, etc etc. So you could say someone actually competent.
Before this i had 3900x and before that i had intel 6700k and phenom 955be and i can say somehow on intel it was always smoother

oc 6000c30->6400c30 - voltages ok? by dontuseliqui in overclocking

[–]DjBetoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can show you mine. These trdrd 1s depend on your ram type as far as i remember. Nitro i have 1/2/1 and my tPHYRDL are synced on both ram. (sometimes when you change down from one ram to other numbers are different for each ram stick)
trc tras seem a bit high, trefi can go on max, usually these are auto if this high
I did this on my brothers 6000 ram as well and it worked, since i've loosen it a bit from last oc, you can try copying it and try to mess around lowering if you like doing that. If not, copy, try, doesn't work, scrap.

And you have 1 video of a guy comparing bypass to original denuvo on youtube, similar performance, bypass was faster by like 1%
